- Becky Giles| 1 replyI have also experienced identical phone calls my due date is 1st thru 15th or it's late with a fee... However, if I do not pay on 1st calls begin and they start early in a.m. thur late 9pm everyday all 7 days a week. They particularly like 9pm on Sunday evening they never miss this slot! They are a horrible lot of people not deserving of this reference "people" I pick up and say do not call list and hang up, they don't like this thus they have increased the calls, so I pick up and say "Federal Trade Commission, you are breaking the law"... However, they ignore this and bully anyone, anytime, without any recourse.

- CharlesLady said she worked for Nation Star Mortgage and was trying to contact the Executor for an estate that I had represented. I told her that the Estate was more than 5 years old, and asked which property she was calling about. She could not tell me the address that she was calling about, and I told her I could not give her any more information. (None of the property in the Estate was financed through this company.)

- msdYes they call on around the 5th...but we've been with them for several years. Last year we had issues and they offered a settlement with lower payments taking $20;000 off and refinancing which lowered our payments by half...however, that $20000 will be added back off we sale...so not sure that it's a 'deal's but Does help the now of the situation. Just wish they weren't so pesky!
- js replies to annoyed by the annoyedI agree. I programmed my phone to not ring for "unknown", "blocked", or "private" incoming calls. For unfamiliar numbers (not in my "contacts") that do show up, the ringer is set to only vibrate. I only answer the ones I recognize, call back the ones who leave messages and block the ones who call repeatedly and don't leave messages. Most phone companies offer "blocking" service that allows you to list numbers that you want blocked... use it.
Accepting the role of "victim" is foolish, and whining solves nothing. - JS replies to Becky GilesThere is recourse, but it's NOT telling someone they're breaking the law. It won't work if someone tries to rob you on the street, so why would you expect it to work with a mortgage company?
First... block the number through your phone company.
Second, actually REPORT them to your state's Attorney General and contact your Congressional delegation, the Federal Consumer Financial Protection Agency, and any other elected official you can think of. Chances are you'll get the attention of SOMEONE who will point you in the right direction. (If not, start by moving to a "blue state", even if it may be harder to get gun there)
Here's another thing to remember... the "live" people that are sometimes on the other end of the line are in high-pressure, low-paying jobs (usually on commission)... if you're not paying for minutes (after hours, weekends or a land line), keep them on the phone as long as possible while you go about your routine. Put them on speaker phone... Make a sport of wasting their time... ask to speak with a manager, ask them questions, talk about the weather. In short, waste their time before letting them move on to the next call. And before you hang up, tell them to "get a real job" or simply "f**k you". It's THEIR time and THEIR dime, and they can't foreclose on you for being "mean" or wasting their time... and call centers like this can track whether the employee or YOU hangs up... THEY aren't allowed to. - MEXHEBYes it is Nationstar second time they call me on the work phone number. Which is illegal under the Fair Credit Act.
next time they call me at work i am going to report them. - DeniseThese people KEEP calling asking for my husband and someone who does not live here. How do you get them to stop as it is usually early in the morning when I am in the shower.

- Every monthThe first of every month they have called me leaving a message to call them for important information. I have called them and asked them repeatedly to take my name off the automatic computer calling system to no avail. I am up-to-date on paying my mortgage. How I wish I could change companies.
