I keep getting calls on my cell & I don't know how they got my #

This number keeps calling me during school and i get my phone taken and i is starting to really piss me the [***] off!

This number constantly calls me I would like them to stop calling my phone.

Calls CONSTANTLY, as late as 10 pm... Calls on SATURDAYS beginning at 8 a.m.!!! They call endlessly, hang up, NEVER leave a message, and I'm afraid to return the call in case they steal my info..
On OTHER sites it's been ID'd as "Xcel Energy" but, there's NO Xcel in MN, we have MN Power??
I'm on the No Call Registry, but yet and still get these D**N calls.  What other steps can I take here??

I get several calls a day. The female stated she has all my information but need me to verify it. After I told her I would not give her my social security # she got upset and stated she was only trying to help me. I advised if she was trying to help me why did I need to give her my social security number....she got mad and started to argue...I ended the call....she called back 3-times after and I blocked the number.

This number calls at least twice daily every day except Sunday. I do not recognize so I do not answer. They NEVER leave a message--if its that damned important, leave a message! Otherwise, [***] and leave me alone!!

Calls to you after 9PM are illegal.

If you have proof that she called you again 3 seperate times in the same day after already making her once daily contact to you, you can sue. Debt collectors are only allowed to contact you one time per day. If they leave a message, that counts as contact for the day. Otherwise, its harassment.

Said that they were attempting to collect an overdue account with a hospital located in a state (Nebraska) that I have never even visited.

Anytime you are dealing with collections, there is a verification process.. I guess if your info was given out to some strange person you would not be so happy and try to sue somebody, huh?? Let me guess you just shouldn't get collection calls, even if you owe it.  If you are receiving a call and you are NOT that person just say so.. Don't act like its an insult.. it is ridiculous. People, everybody has some kind of debt, and everybody needs a job even if it is a debt collector. Handle your business and let people help you. Everything is not a scam!! Simply call the number back, it will give you the information that you need. Stop avoiding your debt. All of you should have to do this job for 1 day, you would change your way of thinking I promise. The only time people are nice is when they need something removed from their credit report or the doctor refuses to see you because you never paid for the other visits. Then the tables are turned. It is sad, this country is drowning in debt.. most of it because people wont pay their bills.

Let me guess you are a debt collector.  If it is truly a debt collector, they can leave a message saying who they are calling for and who they are.  This is not a violation.  However there are debt collectors that are contracted but they are nasty and condescending.   If you call me you need to I.d. Yourself before I answer one question.  There are legit debt collectors and here near the holidays the slime comes out from under every rock there is.  This the season is the time for scams. Just saying!

called me this morning I didn't know who it was so I don't answer the phone

Very suspicous!   A lady left message regarding a collection notice on an over due medical bill.  I was pretty sure I didn't have any outstanding medical bills. I returned the call and was told  I owed a local doctor ( a doctor I had visited) some large amount of money. The date of the visit was 3 years ago and that the claim had been filed 5 months prior to this first phone call.  Needless to say, I was furious. Having just been to that doctor 6 months prior,  I was never told I had an unpaid balance from 2 1/2 years ago.   I wanted to find out what was going on.    I  hung up and called the doctor's office and was reassured that I had no outstanding balance; therefore no collection claim was ever filed against me.  I am concerned about how they got my information.
