These schmucks asked for the same FAKE name I gave to get the "diabetic supplies" telemarketer scammers to make it easy to identify them when they call again (they always do). Those jerks always wanted to know my Medicare number (which is the same as your Social Security number). I'm betting they're both the same bunch of thieves.

Try this: Tell them that person has a new phone number, then give them your local US Congressman's local office phone number (I keep it by the phone). Also, give them Richard Nixon's Social Security number (just Google both numbers).

Received a call from this number this evening, on my cell phone: did not answer. I never gave Mercantile my phone number. My message box is full, so I don't know if they bothered to wait through the ringing to find that out. I hope the class-action procedure goes well!!
