Got a call from what appears to be social security administration office in Richmond, CA, I have a letter from Soc Sec listing that #. I called and was asked to leave my personal information, which I stupidly did. They asked for my Social Security #.

Received a letter with Social Security Administration letterhead stating I filed a claim for Social Security benefits online, which I didn't because I'm not eligible. Letter requested I contact Erica Jones at this number. Did reverse directory check - no valid ID associated with this number.

I checked it out with the national Social Security office.  The number is legitimate.  You don't have to take my word for it.  Do what I did:  Call the national office and confirm if for yourself.

I got an email from the "Social Security Administration" asking to call them about "Medicare entitlement" They had my full name, and I am actually enrolling in Medicare. But I believe it is a scam, and a sophisticated one. The first 3 digits of the phone # match the actual SSA phone number, but with an 877 prefix instead of 800.

Same here. Call from Richmond, Ca claiming to be from SS office. Only spoke Spanish. Said to call him back before Monday. He called around 5:30 Friday night. I know offices are closedSSA on weekends and after 4 pm during the week. Then I got 2 emails from him with a different phone number requesting that I call him back before Monday to verify my earnings statement and benefits. The email states it’s from SSA. Of course it has to be a scam! Funny thing though, I did recently apply for SS, so is there a leak in our system???

Same here. I didn’t believe the call because it was so late and in Spanish only, but then I got 2 emails from them with a different phone number. The guy’s name is Leonardo Dallessandro. I wonder if there is a leak in our system since I just recently applied for benefits as well???

Got this same call and since I don't spanish I "El blockoed" the number. Apparently this is just another social security scam call!
