I dont think it is a good idea to call them back and select option #5.  It could be a way for them to be billing you somehow.

I have received a few calls from this number over the last few days when I wasn't home.   I answered the latest call received and then within a couple of seconds heard a recording of T. Boone Pickens telling me I could press "1" to join the Pickens Energy Army with no charge to me.  Not sure what the Pickens Energy Army is, but I didn't press "1" and then after the message (it may have repeated once or twice, I can't remember) and some silence on the line there was a female voice that said I could press "9" to be removed from the calling list.  I pressed "9".   As an earlier post said, Pickens must be desperate.  I've read that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has investments that would benefit from the Pickens energy scheme; so beware of the government-business complex too.

If you call the number, option 5 is to add your number to their DNC list.

I called the number and pressed "5" to be put on their "do not call" list.  I did check out the website.  The plan itself seems hopelessly naive.

I had to dial whole # including the one to get the voice message then pressed 5. We'll see soon enough if it works cause they're persistent.

Receive calls every 2 or 3 days.  I answer and nobody is there.  Called the # and it's "T-Boone Pickens".  I pressed 5 to be placed on "Do Not Call" List.
Hope it works.  Very irritating.

The reason there is no one there sometimes when you answer is that the bot calls a half dozen numbers at once.  Someone else picked up before you did, therefore there was no one there when you answered.  No "heavy breathing" either.  That's ridiculous.  Dead air.

There ought to be rules enforced about making it open season to call any number that can be found - "do not call listings" are proving to be a real joke since there are SO many ways these clowns get around 'the rule' - anybody got any good ideas on how to shut this #*&@ down?

As an addition to what Cindy wrote (2nd post before this one), I've discovered that many times the phone line actually is connected but then it takes a couple of seconds before the recording starts (or in the case of a live telemarketing call for a live telemarketer to come on the line).   So, if you want to actually to deal with the call at least sometimes it pays to stay on the line and listen to the initial few seconds of dead air because what seems to be a "hang up" is really just a slow response by the caller in responding to your answering of the phone.

If this was a real T. Boone Pickens operation, don't you think they would
have at least spelled his name right in their email address?  This is just
some [***] who wants you to get pissed at T. Boone Pickens and his plan.  Probably an oil company.

Like everyone else, we are called day after day at different times but no one is on the other end, no messages, nothing - just hang up after hang up.  Finally called back and chose the #5 option.  We'll see if it works.  If not, I'm complaining to my Congress representative.

I keep getting calls from this number and no one will talk.  After I have said hello 3 times (pausing for some response in between) the line hangs up.

Whoever pressed "5" to be removed from the list... did it work?? Sometimes it is a trick to verify that they reached a legit number.
Why wouldn't you people inform us if the option worked is beyond me.

I am tired of getting calls from 877-872-3247. I pick u[p the phone and tney hang up or if they get my answering phone they hang up. This is an extreme annoyance to me. I would never in my wildest dreams return a call to this number.

These people call several times and nobody will say anything!  I am sure they must be telemarketing but they must be computer dialing and talking to whomever answers first!  They need to be stopped!  They are truly a nusance!!!
