881 is the international calling code for the Global Mobile Satellite system (GMSS) which is a shared code.

Wangiri (literally, "One (ring) and cut") is a Phone fraud that originated in Japan. The scam involves a computer using hundreds of phone lines to dial mobile phones numbers at random. The numbers appear as missed calls on the recipients mobile. Believing a legitimate call was cut off, or simply curious, users are enticed to call back. The numbers are either premium rated, or contain advertising messages

If you have any missed calls from a +881 number or any international number you do not recognise (as they will only ring for one or two rings long enough to transmit the caller ID) It's best not to call these numbers back as you could get charged hefty premium rates.

Missed the call a few times also.  They did not leave any message so I wanted to know if it was even legitimate.

This "person" called me. I wasn't at my phone at the moment.

Got a Call from +88182151201. It rang and I answered immediately since the phone happened to be in my hand but the caller hang up immediately.

I got a call from 00881944110307. I picked up and there was an automated answering machine reapeating the message to talk to chief financial officer. This was in German and I am in Germany as well. But I did not do anything and they hand up. Will they charge me for that as well?

I am getting one call a day from a different +881 number.  It's annoying as They keep on changing the number so it's difficult to block

I just received a call from + 881 839 50156 - I did not answer - but I did call back - someone answered - female - but she was speaking in Arabic - so I could not understand - how these people got my number is beyond me

I got a call from +881 838 110208. Since it was an international call with a country code that I did not recognize I did not pick it up. Always the best thing to do--if it's legit the caller will either call you back or leave a message.
