Victoria called from the "Ontario Business Development office." ( We are in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) - They call every year, wanting to confirm our address and asking "are we still looking for a new location?" I Asked her to remove us from their calling list & hung up.

Just got a call from a lady claiming she was with the San Diego business development center.  She wanted to know how many employees I had and when I was moving to another location. She when I asked what is the purpose of this call she said it was to measure business growth.  She asked for me email, name and address.  Not sure if this was just a really bad sales call or what.

"State of Oregon Business Development Office" don't think so. How do we get them to stop. I have had dozens of calls from them at the office.

I got a similar call from a guy with an Indian accent.  He said he was calling on behalf of the State of Texas and he was wondering if we moved yet.  I told him we didn't and we weren't planning to.  He asked if we planned any changes in the upcoming year, and I just hung up on him.  That didn't sound like the kind of questions the State of Texas would call and ask.

They been calling every week. State of Texas business development office. asking office address. I asked what is your name and company's name they hangup. Same voice but different name every week....

Got 2 call from them. first they called saying they where from the Quebec government... and they where speaking English , our government speak french i was like wtf? we hung hup.

they called back saying the where from the Canadian government now ...lol asking us if we where moving ...

FRAUD SCAM FISHING.

Got a call saying they were from the canadian evolving business Network or something...
Trying to get my new adress or if I was mooving.

Just got this phone call so thank you all for your posts.  Her accent was so thick that I couldn't understand who she said she was representing.  When I said that, she hung up.

They call me daily!  I've asked nicely to be removed from their list, I've asked sternly, I've demanded, I've yelled, I've asked to speak to a supervisor. THIS IS DAILY, and sometimes HOURLY!!! THIS IS HARASSMENT!!!!!!  You cannot call the number back, and there is no information anywhere on this number.

Received continous calls from a Christina who is a 'manager' there. I asked for her to mail us something from the State of Texas to verify their information. She calls about every other day. I have asked to place us on the do not call list, she says since she is from the State of Texas, they cant do that. I just hung up on her after awhile, she never got the hint.

Gave name as Haley Williams. Asked same quesitons as described above. Definitely a phishing scam. Should be reported and stopped!

This is the second time I've received an outsourced call center call from the"state of New Jersey" business dev center. Asking if we have found a new place to move our office. Why? Why? Why?

I told him we aren't moving and he hung up.

They called me this morning claiming to be from the State of Illinois Buisiness whatever. They were asking if I was planning on moving next year. I said I have no plans at the moment. I knew it was fishy when a woman who CLEARLY doesn't speak english well is calling people on behalf of the state of Illinois. Nonsense.

The women with heavy accent and loud background noise contacted us and identified herself as Tina from the State of Texas Business Economic office asking if we found a location to move to or we still looking.  I asked her for call back information, she replied "Ms. Tina Collins from the State of Texas Business office at 281.325.8000". I replied I'm not aware of a move then she hung up.  I'm not sure how they can claim they're calling from an "official" state government office when obiviously they're misrepresenting themselves and the nature of the call.

Two yesterday, one so far today. Claims to be "State of Georgia Business Development Office." Number is visible but name is showing on Caller ID as "Unavailable." In fact the one I just got was the same guy as yesterday afternoon, when I said to STOP CALLING US. I get several a week from them. I have repeatedly told them to put us on their Do Not Call list; I've said if they want to verify our address they can google it. Doesn't matter, they keep calling. Next time I'm just going to start hanging up the second I hear them talk, as I do with "the copier company" who wants to check on our machine's serial number.

This number kept calling so I answered.  They identified themselves as calling from the City of Edmonton. They verified my business name then asked if I was still looking to relocate or have I found a place.  I said I had no idea what she was talking about and she hung up.
