We just received a call from this number saying she is from the California Chamber of Commerce/California's Department of Economic Development asking when we'll be moving. I told them we do not disclose this information and hung up, the caller then called again 5 times after that. We have been receiving these calls periodically and are borderline harassment. If you get a call from this number or any number stating they're from those departments, please field those calls. The real CA departments usually send forms with valid return addresses, area codes and direct contacts if they wish to learn about your business moving needs. I have a good sense of humor so I told them we're moving on Feb. 31st and hung up on them.

Anyway, be on alert for these calls!

I work the reception area in a shared office accomodation and answer the phone for numerous clients. I receive multiple calls on behalf of my clients, and have had the "Toronto Business Bureau" (which does not exist) and more recently, the Ontario Business Development Office call asking  if we have moved/or are planning to move. I never confirm any of these details and simply say that they would have to confirm the information with one of my colleagues, and then I put them to voicemail as I have realize this is clearly some kind of scam. It is always an individual with a heavy accent and poor phone connection - clearly an oversees call center. Today I decided to ask them why they needed to know this and the lady replied stating they were creating their 2014 report, so I asked whom they spoke to in regards to last years report, in which she replied that she has never contacted our business before... hmm why now?

I was quite busy so didn't have the time to think of a clever way to mess with the caller, but I later googled just to check if there is a Ontario Business Development Office (in case by some miracle it was real call for my client), which of course there is not. Next time I receive one of these calls I am asking where they are located, or telling them we aren't an Ontario company so why would they care. Hopefully the calls will stop eventually...

Asked a move out date, # of employees, name of person in charge of office, confirmed address.
Said they were collecting info for Government of Ontario and would send us updated business profile.

Same thing.  They call us all the time asking us if we have found our new location to move into.  Told her we weren't looking.  Then she said "so you found a location then?" and I insisted no, because we never were looking.  Got irritated because they call all of the time.  Then she starts asking if we have any planned changes for the business, etc.

So annoying.

Received a call from this unknown number March 25, 2015 to my cell phone (work).  I did not pick it up but thanks for the tips so I don't call back to find out who it was!

Also receiving numerous calls here in TX from "Dallas Chamber of Commerce" and "State of Texas Business Development Office" asking if we are "still looking to relocate".  I cannot write the words we chose to share with them.... much too profane for this forum!!!!

Just got a call from this number for the 3rd time this week. Yes it's only Tuesday. They also called 3 times last week. Claim to be from Chamber of Commerce and want to know if we have found a new location. I have repeatedly asked them to STOP calling.

I got a similar call last year, identified my business name and address. I just slowly reiterated OBDO back to them in disbelief since well, it doesn;t exist. They hung up. lol
