So now they are targetting me, The Smartmallshopping.net company (Terry Ryan) has given me an offer to receive 2 websites IF I signed up TODAY. I almost signed, but I felt I needed to do a little research first, boy am I glad I did?! Everyone, thanks for all of your experiences. The number that called my phone was 886-678-7175.

Ok, I love this.  I got the call today (did not answer - unknown name) and came directly to look it up on this site.  Sooo, now I am wanting them to call me back as I am going to let them think I am going to pay the 9,000+ and am sooo excited about the program, then say oh, my baby is up let me call you right back I have caller ID (of course they know they lost the sale as I can not reach them (apparently) by calling this number) bummer for them, then when they call me back, I will use the names I have seen here and say well, since you called, Wes called me and offered the same thing for a much lower price and let them squirm a bit.  Might even say I already signed up with Cheryl as she was the lowest offer.  If they think I signed maybe they won't call anymore, but if they do, oh I can play a game with the info you all have provided.  I really need to get a hobby  hehe

Brenda:  This is a marketing scam which can be coming from anywhere, literally in the USA or Canada or even elsewhere. A computer somewhere dials a series of numbers simultaneously and patches those that answer through to operators, again, who could be sitting in their living rooms in Kansas or Kentucky or Kokomo.  It's more efficient to dial 100 numbers and patch through the first ten answerers to the ten operator/salespersons available, and to hang up on the other 90 numbers and call again the next day. It's called "inside sales" with leads. The operator/salesperson reads a script, certainly does NOT use a real name, and tries to hook you into giving up the good old credit card number.  They say the details will come in the mail, or "within 48 hours" after a credit check or something like that.

If they have your credit card number.   They probably make $10. The rest of the $ goes to the credit card number scam company.  And then the scam company lists your name and number available for a fee to someone who will pay a fee to get the name and number and use that card number for maybe 3 more days.  Then it's over.  Next month, look for charges in excess of $10,000 on your bill.

These are worldwide scams with enough unethical English and Spanish speaking sales/reps available to make tens of thousands of these robotic initiated calls every day, and always find a few hundred suckers a day to fall for stuff like this. At $100-$200 a sucker, VERY profitable.

NEVER GIVE your credit card number out to ANYONE who calls you.  EVER!

This Unknown caller woke me up at 8 am and a woman asked to speak with a Name not in my household. I was irritated and said she had the wrong number and she woke me up! She told me to shut up and hang up... I went mental and called her nasty names then hung up! What the hell, I'm on the Do Not Call List and still get these irritating calls!

    THIS WORKS!............

"called their real number  (877-968-3781) and told them i was on the national do not call registry, and that i kept getting calls from their SPOOFED number (making sure to emphasize the spoofed part so they knew i wasn't fooled), and asked what i needed to do to make sure they no longer called me.  the gentleman was very pleasant, apologized, asked for my number to remove from their database, and told me it wouldn't happen again.  we'll see if that's true, because now that they've been notified, further calls are in violation and fineable."

    Thank you!

Received a call today, 12-20-2011 at 11:45am. My wife answered the phone and the caller would not identify himself but asked to speak with me. She asked for a number but he wouldn't leave one. I tried calling 886-678-7175 and got a recording that said this was not a working number. This is a scam I'm sure but I'm reporting this information to my attorney.

They call several days in a row, asking for the wrong name, and it is sooooo annoying. I've had this phone line for 10 years and they call it every December-January and I've had enough...

Been getting calls from this number for several weeks now most of them before eight in the morning.  Today I pretended a fake male voice and this is what happened.  "Lonnie here from amazonassociates.com  I see you are interested..."  When I interrupted he became abusive and started yelling.  I told him not to call anymore and I have enought  info to sue.  He was a reptile  and kept yelling they were never told to stop calling because they don't give us time","   LOOSERS!  a tidbit, they seem to be affiliate marketing.

    What a shame!
I figured that Amazon knew of our frequent shopping, responding with a kind offer.
Who wouldn't respond to the Amazon name.

Actually interested in website development I listened.
I ask a lot of questions to understand completely.

When someone replies with prefabricated answers, it is suspect.
The next phase is the con man's defensiveness followed by anger.

At this point call them out on the failed scam.  Honestly, the internet age enables anyone to start an online business.  As one such person, I would recommend taking notes about a favored webpage.
Information is always posted.  After a while, if you poke around  with patience, taking notes, you can begin. You are no longer ignorant.

The appearance of Streamline's offered website was hideous, which was another clue.
Google anything to find the information you seek.  It never disappoints.
