Someone called pretending to be from the IRS and asked for my Social Security number to “verify” the call. Don’t fall for it - it’s a scam. Just hang up and don’t give out any info. I never share personal details over the phone with anyone, no matter what.
This phone number has already been reported to both federal and state authorities, and it’s also listed on several websites where people report scam calls to warn others. The number I entered here is accurate and has no typos. I double-checked it before submitting this comment. Stay alert and don’t engage with these kinds of calls.

The original number they called me was 667-444-7305 saying they were from the national tax relief program. I told them that the call was being recorded and they hung up on me. I called back and got the number 888-228-6840 and told them that i was hung up on and that this call was being recorded. They hung up on me too.
