Report a phone call from 888-288-2106 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- StreetGuyCalls me daily with a pre=recorded voice message prompting me to call 1-888-288-2106.
When I called back, I got the Fido A/R office where they had no idea what the call was about and directed me to call Rogers 1-888-764-3771. A rude person at Rogers directed me back to Fido A/R.
Eventually I called Fido cutomer support and requested the calls to be stopped immediately or I cancel my phone service with them. They promised to escalate the issue and assured the calls would stop as of tomorrow. Let's see....- Caller: FIDO
- Can you read? replies to i always pay my fido bill on timeMost people on here paid their bill, and on the other site you wrote this on 50% didn't even have a FIDO account.
Do you work for them or something? Let me tell you now my little friend, even if you're right and someone is 1 day to a week late does not all of a sudden make harrasment legal. Being late on payament for that short amount of time however IS allowed by law. - Lenny replies to i always pay my fido bill on timeYou made a good point...lol...I do not answer that number anymore, because when I did, it hangup on me...so, you are right...Bills has to be paid on time...

- JimIf you have an iPhone/Blackberry/Android/Windows phone you can download various apps that let you have a "blacklist" of phone numbers that won't ring or be able to leave voice mail effectively shutting out these numbers.
If you don't have one of these then you can either save the number as a contact and set it to a silent ring (if your phone supports this) or you can download a silent ring-tone by doing a google search, download it and assign the silent ring tone to the number you want to block out. Not as good as you could still get a voicemail and/or missed called notification from them, but better than nothing.- Caller: didn't answer
- lo.yeah, it is when you call fido and they transfer you to a different department,
it is a error, and i just called, i had been factured for 16 $ of non local phone ( = 46 mins)- Caller: fido

- taxman| 2 repliesAnybody a little smart can choose a number like - 1-888-288-2106 to show in the display . As a fact the Canadian tax man-CCRA-use it to try to catch some people they do not like.....naughty boys.
It can also be used by fake company as well trying to get your credit card number. Labour is cheap in India and China but very rewarding
The fact is when you call back you actually end-up at Fido when the actual caller was not Fido.
Do a search for "Caller ID spoofing" and you will understand.- Caller: CCRA
- jagdeb replies to taxman| 1 replyOh I understand harrasment perfectly well. I have a fido account. I am 1 week late in making my 60.00 payment. I will pay the bill on payday. In the mean time they call my cell and then my home phone twice per day and hang up. I will use their phone till my contract is up and them I will tell them why I will not renew with them. I will also make it my hobby to tell everyone that I know about their harrasing policy. And then I will get on facebook and twitter and tell all of my firends, friends and they will tell their friends and you know what? Fido will have a very hard time getting anyone to take their service. This is Canada and I can fight back legally. This is goin to be fun. Would any one like to join me?
- BruceNo one else has been called in a year?
This number has been calling my business line relentlessly for over a week.
Before I started blocking it, it would leave a message to call them back regarding my account. I am not a Fido customer.
I called Fido back and they said they'd remove me which hasn't happened. Remove me from what I wonder? Their spam list? What about the chance my land line is tied to a defunt account of theirs?
Tried calling back twice more to complain, but they leave you on hold forever. As a last resort, send them a threatening email and am blocking them once again.
Is this even Fido? The number is legit but I suppose it could be a phishing scam with a spoofed number?- Caller: Fido
- britI would get calls from fido all day everyday! They would leave automated messages. Today it came from a different number saying that they needed to talk to me about my account. I don't even have a fido account! I usually screen numbers like that.
- WinnieThey have called 3 times in the last three hours and when I pick up, no one speaks. Just an automated message telling me to call them. And when I do, there no one speaks with me. Just a very long wait time. I hung up.

- DauidMattyu replies to VioletRegs change province to province not all the same. Far as I know Sunday's are pretty much taboo all round. But, it's Fido, it's all relative but their not bad if u talk to them.
- PeggyGot this phone call a few times now. I called Fido directly 611 from my phone instead of calling them because feeling like it's a scam. Fido answers CCS said the 888 number does not belong to Fido.
I did not call the number back to test it out. But will totally ignoring this phone call. - robert robert| 1 replymy account is not late for payment and they keep caling and sendind me txt message i m going to cancel my account whit fido
- Call type: Debt collector
- Q replies to VioletThey are supposed to send you written notice first. Whether it is by email or registered letter. They are not supposed to call you after that any more than 3 times per week. I find it easier to talk with them and then make an arrangement of payment. Fido is quite good with me I find when I do work with them instead of avoiding calls.
- Worldly GuyI just added the number to my contacts and blocked it. Yup, Fido/Rogers does harass people!
- Caller: FIDO

- research replies to Mr Know it allits a joke!! they had no idea why they were calling me. research this outgoing # a little more folks. if you call it, it is to fido. but if it calls you it is spam.. some random collecting agency. dont give them your info.
- WhitePower! replies to VioletIt isn't harrasment if they call multiple times a day when you have an outstanding balance that is overdue by more than 10 days.
They only keep calling because they haven't been able to get a hold of you yet.
Once they do, and you talk to them and agree on a date that you can make a full or a partial payment, they will leave you alone.
You'll find that most collection workers are just doing their job, and all the need is to make sure you aren't skipping on the bill. Large companies like Fido, Shaw, Terasen, etc, are more than willing to work with you and your current monetary situation. What matters is that YOU talk to them. Is preferable that you reach them in advance and make arrangements if you already know you won't be able to pay on time. Getting them in the loop of things will work wonders, but even if you fail to do that, they are still willing to work with you after the were forced to chase you.
I do not work for any of those companies, or have ever worked in collections.
I just have more expenses than I can afford and I have learnt that a way to keep your credit score unstained, is by working with the ones you owe to.
Most of my debts have been and are with large companies... Not sure if small companies will be the same, but if I had loaned people money, I rather they contact me in advance and work out a plan to get them to square of each monthly payment than have to chase them and bust their face in.
Anyway... Long story short, the won't harass you if you save them the having to chase you. On the streets, well that's a different story lol - WhitePower! replies to robert robertRight... They call you cuz they love your voice i'm sure. How about you cut the [***] and go take care of your debts instead. If you didn't owe them, they wouldn't call you. And no, that's is definitely not a spam number. You'll find it on their website.
And if they are calling and you are actually right, that you don't owe... All you have to do is email or fax proof that you made a payment towards you account.
Don't bs a bser!
