This number called me and said that I had som suspicious activity on my card and my card had been frozen. This turned out to be the case when I called the number on the back of my card and learned that someone had tried to wire ALL of the money out of my account. They are just doing their job.

no you are wrong. this is a fraud company. They called from 888-644-5579 and the caller id says "unknown name". They say they are from the wellsfargo fraud dept and want your ssn and wellsfargo acct number. I called the wellsfargo number on the back of my card, and there was no fraud alert on my card.

Wells fargo themselves then tried to sell idenity protection insurance and asked me to call 877-292-6130.

The number is wellsfargo's fraud prevention number.  I received a call from them, went through the entire process of getting a new card.  After I hung up I realized that I had no way of knowing that was wellsfargo.  I called the number on the back of my card and spoke with a representative who called the fraud department to double check that it was them I spoke to.  It was them and the fraud protection company they link your call to is also part of their program.  

Bottom line is, anyone can write anything on these forums saying it is a scam or legit.  Call wellsfargo yourself and double check.  This is the way you can really known if it is legit or not.  Taking some random persons word from a post online who could someone trying to cover up their scam they are running is never a wise choice.  Always directly call the company and verify for yourself so you can have peace of mind that you were not just scammed.

this is wells fargo and it is a scam. they said there was unusual activity on my card. they wanted to verify 4 charges all but one was for less than 50.00 and all were at stores i use regularly. The SCAM they then wanted to sell me fraud protection only a $1 for the first month automatically deducted from my acc., they would send me my credit reports there were 280000 fraud case a day/year/month after declining there ofer 4 times i just hung up. they are just as bad as the rest of them

call from 888 293 7475 regarding WF debit "fraudulent activity" requested I call back 800 704 0855 and have the card handy.  Called WF from number on my debit card: nothing on my accounts, neither number valid for any WF department. Total SCAM

Wells Fargo absolutely doesn't have "Identity Protection Insurance."  They are a bank, and per Federal law would not be allowed to sell insurance for one, but they provide this service for free.  You seem to be reporting a separate number!

Wells Fargo fraud department. They called after denying a legitimate transaction I had attempted. This is legit.

Same scam here.  They "Wells Fargo" called me to inquire why I haven't responded to the text messages alerting me to fraudulent charges on my card.  I advised the caller I spoke with the "real Wells Fargo Fraud Department" and the caller immediately terminated the call

This is a fraud. Do not give them any information. Especially not your atm pin. Call the number on the back of your card if you are worried. Find out for yourself that this is a scam. These guys on here saying it’s not a scam. Then they most likely are part of the scam. You may call the real fraud department and they might have seen some strange activity. But that is probably because of the people who are calling you.

100% FRAUDULENT.  Find your Wells Fargo 1800 number off their website and call them yourself to verify.  They spoof the number, so when you google +1 (888) 293-7475‬ it may look legit. IT IS NOT.

Had this happen to me and as soon as I said, "Hmm you sound fishy" he hung up immediately. I called WF and confirmed.

People saying otherwise on this site are a part of the scam.  You motherf*ckers, I hope you rot.
