Missed a call from these people on my newish cell number today.  I truly appreciate the people who have posted here so I know it is a scam.  We are in our 60s and do not have any student loans or kids with student loans.  I wish it were possible to "reach out and touch" some of these crooks in person.

Someone from 888-337-9833 just started calling my company asking for my boss (who is our CFO).  He is claiming that he needs to verify Mr. BlahBlah's (leaving the name out for identity protection) employment status via social security number.  He claims to have the SS # and that he needs to speak with someone who can verify the information.  I told him we outsource these types of calls and we are not permitted to provide such information.  When I asked him if he wanted the number of our verification company, he then proceeds to tell me that I am misunderstanding what he needs and that he is looking for someone who can verify Mr. BlahBlah's employment status.  My response once again is that they need to contact our outside service to do such a thing.  He gets very irritated with me because I won't provide this SCAM ARTIST with what he wants.  Do they not realize that people nowadays are educated about such scams???  I can't believe people are still trying these tactics for identity theft.  If you care about your own identity and credit status, DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION to these people if you receive a call from this phone number.

I just got a call... almost fell for it  but they had ssn  but wrong address i never lived    said it was a student loan   dont know about any student loan
