Tell them they are reaching a cell phone and to not call again. i think they have to not call cells as it uses minutes, your minutes.

This company has called for over four years looking for my youngest son's best friend. His friend lived with us for almost a year when he was down on his luck, never paying anything, and paid us back by listing us as contacts on all of his loan applications. He's apparently defaulted on everything so I get lots of calls. Telling the reps that the kid doesn't live here and we aren't related doesn't seem to help very much. They obviously don't believe me. I have no idea where the kid lives now, or with whom. His friendship with my son has dissolved, so there is no connection at all. Any ideas? To  make it even more irritating, the reps are foreigners. My son's friend has an unusual and old-fashioned first name which they completely mangled. Nothing like being insulted by a foreign call center! I've found that East Indians don't speak English nearly as well as they think they do.

they repeatedly call looking for a person with the same last name as me.I ask what it is about and they always says its personal. so i say well its personal if i know this person yuo tell me what its about and ill tell yuo where they live.of course thet cant by law so its fun. Either that or say yeah i know who thwy are they just bought a milion dollar yacht and are sailing the worl lol

I got a call from 888-344-1268. I did not answer, of course. The caller did not leave a message. This is what I call a waste of everybody's time.
Why are we simply reporting these calls? Why do Lawmakers continue to allow this abuse? What we need is a new movement.
Politicians need to revisit the do-not-call law, repeal it, and make a new one. This law was important to me but I came to find that it is filled with loop-holes and allows the same abusers to continue making their abusive calls, exactly like this one. This web site is full of reports of rampant abuse.
The do-not-call law does not serve us regular folks with busy lives - it serves those self-interest groups who lobby and influence those who make laws. I say let's make a new law that actually serves the people this time - not special interest groups.
It seems like an easy thing to do. We all want it. So write to your Representatives and get the ball rolling. You can use my text above all you want in your letters and emails. It can't come fast enough for me. Let's go!

This group has called me for the past 4 years asking for a certain Karen Houser.  When they called this morning, I asked who's calling.  He asked for a Karen Houser.  I immediately told him I told your group a hundred times I don't know her...she's never lived here...I had my phone number for 15 yrs....and to take my number off the list.  DO NOT CALL HERE AGAIN.    He must have been a new guy, since he sounded so meek and apologetic....Hopefully they don't call again.   Seems like this list has been doing the rounds with all kinds of debt collectors  after several years.

Same thing happened to me.  We've had our number and address for 20 yrs.  4-years ago we began getting collection calls for someone named Deborah Kay Wilson. Not only has this woman hijacked my telephone number, but my address too.  We had a sheriffs deputy come to our address twice to serve papers on her and we receive collection mail all of the time.  I've been diligent to call companies back and ask to be taken off their call list. For about 6 months we didn't receive a single call from someone looking for this woman.  I thought it had finally stopped. That changed last week.  I'm seriously thinking about having my land line removed.

And you can too...Just report this call and others like it to the Federal Communications Commission.
And do it online,it's easy for those still getting those automated dialers that have become illegal to use about 2 years ago,but why should anybody care with the DO NOT CALL LIST,that's all automated nobody to enforce the laws being broken.(and nobody to send those checks!)
And for those getting "UNKNOWN" or "OUT OF AREA" They will "TAP"your phone to catch the "cockroaches".

They called my number and did not leave a message.  I have never seen this number before and want to nip this in the bud now.  Thanks for leaving messages and letting me know what's going on.

We keep getting obnoxious calls from this number to our business phones(2 numbers).  No amount of explaining that they have a wrong number is working.

Called my prepaid cell number, which I don't give out, so they weren't looking for me.

Received call from 888-344-1268 who are seeking to collect a debt for some unknown to me name. Called them back, they keep on hanging up the phone. Complete losers and annoyance! They should be fined and jailed and their [***] "company" dissolved! This proves again how DUMB most Americans are!

Thanks for the suggestion.  It worked.  Once I got through to Customer Service, they saw my number and said they would remove from calling list.  Hopefully that will stop the calls.

Now that is funny!  Do  you work for them or what?  They are the rudest people on earth.  I have already told them a hundred times to stop calling me, I am not Judy and I don't even know anyone by that name.  They call me a liar and then go on a rampage.  Don't tell people that if you tell them to remove your number that they will.  That is nothing but an out and out lie!

I did not get the name of the organization, since the TV was on, and the caller said that our conversation was being recorded.  The woman asked for another person who does not live at my residence, and I told her not to call again.  I went through this nonsense about 6 months ago, and in that round of nonsense the caller threatened to have me served for the person they were supposedly trying to reach.

Hi I also got call from this number. Is there any solution to get rid of this. Will there be any police help we can take?

They called here. Did not leave a message. They hung up when teh answering machine started. I have no idea who they are but from other comments it sounds like some type of collection agency. Not sure.
