This text came from an "unknown sender" stating "Hello :) I took your numbr (sp) from our friend, I bet u won't guess who this is! LOL I'm too shy...check me out online, my page is datetrip.org"

Anyone else who is getting this same message been receiving harassing phone calls from a (201) area code? I was getting about 20 calls a day from one number, then another 201 number, and now this text. Wondering if it is connected.

This number is being passed around by email claiming you need to call it to get ON THE "Do Not Call" registry in the USA.

This number is from Federal Trade Commission of the "Do Not Call" Registry; it is, however, weird that you would get a call from them(?)... You usually would have to contact them to be added to the list...

This seems like a phone number that is used for all sorts of annoyances.  It is given as the number to call to put your cell phone number on the Do Not Call list but it appears to put it on a annoyance list instead.  If you receive an e-mail suggesting that you call the number (perhaps even for another reason other than the Do not Call list), I strongly suggest you research it before you call.  I'm not sure about this but it certainly seems to be the case.

I get calls from this number and the number changes each call. I get 4-5 calls daily and only a beep and when researched the number is non-existent. This is harassment and despite being on the no-call list  I get them daily.

this is a phony number...you think it's to go on the do not call my cell list, but it's actually someone gathering those phone numbers to either spam, scam or solicit you...beware

I received a call from that number after dealing with a scammer with a different number? I didn't return the call.
