- KimIs this a legit thing or a scam? They said they have legal matters against me from 2001? But they used my maiden name.
- Caller: Legal matter
- Call type: Debt collector
- Kim| 1 replyWhen you got this call, what was the purpose? Did they have some of your information?
- B-Edwards replies to KimThe call you got is one of the scripts/tricks that debt scammers use. They want to scare you into paying a debt you do not owe, and never did. Ignore the call. DO NOT call back, that only keeps them calling and they will get nasty. Block the number.
See our sister site: https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-384-3064/2 - NathanI received a voicemail on December 28th from # stating that I need to return their call at #regarding a specific case number and that it was an important legal matter and I had 24 hours to call back or they would "proceed on their side". I ignored it figuring it was yet another scam call. I have unknown numbers blocked for a reason. My ex (divorced for 12 years) sent me the same recording that I got the Monday following. So I decided to call. There was no greeting when picked up (No such and such with blah blah). They asked for the case number. I asked what company they represent and all of that. They said Hayvenhurst and Associates. I said "Can you spell that please? And can I get your mailing and physical address for the company?" She said "You don't know how to spell havenhirst? And that is all you need to know." I let her know that she will need to reach out to my attorney with any communication. She said that I will have to get my attorney to reach out to them. To make this story short, I called back several times trying to get information on the company. (Company does not exist in any Federal or State database) Even after blocking my call *67, they still knew who I was some how. The man that I got today (next day), he stated that his name was JMT and even gave me this man's California Bar license # (please keep in mind, the real JMT is NOT the one doing the calls or scamming! Hes a victim too. I have already emailed him and attempted to call him.) The real JMT is a successful, tenured lawyer whom I do not feel would need to get into predatory collections practice to make a living. That being said, they are claiming that my ex husband and I had credit card debit and they are going to put a lien on my current home to recover the funds and that they would "See me in court". (Mind you, statute of limitations is over and GONE for that. Not including the fact that my ex husband and I didn't have credit card debt.) I think that they got more than they bargained for when they called me. My due diligence is on point and my investigating skills are pretty darn good. Their tone changed to ugly as soon as I told them to contact my lawyer with further correspondence. They knew that they were not getting a cent from me so they resorted to try to scare me. Not going to happen. I even tried calling in the middle of the night to see if there was a way to leave a message or to see what the system says. Rang to nothing. Beware out there everyone! They are getting desperate! They knew a LOT about me.
