- JasmineI’ve gotten a call the last few days from them. I have no idea how they got my number, and when I call, they refuse to take my number off the list unless I give them my name. I asked why do they need my name AND social security number, and the lady replied “We just do.” Why the hell do they “need” my name and SSN to take my number off their damn list? They don’t.

- Just A Thought| 1 replyI have read all of the harassing complaints by a lot of CPS's Customers, Relatives and friends. They sound like they are not an "Above Board" lender. They prey on customers that are having trouble getting a loan therefore, they charge absorbent interest fees. I have a friend (actually an Ex-Wife) who acquired a loan with them and not only have they contacted me, they have contacted all of my family members asking for information of her whereabouts. She hasn't moved, Her billings are still being sent to her address and her phone number has not changed, yet the calls to my family members and friends persist. Sounds like to me, it is a Embarrassment tactic for collection purposes and should be reported and/or a class action lawsuit brought forth against them. I'm sure their tactics are illegal and all of their customers should rally together and put an end to a company of this nature.

- JackReacher replies to Just A ThoughtIt appears that they offer subprime car loans to people with horrible credit that probably should not be purchasing a car in the first place. Yes, for that service they will charge exorbitant interest rates. Now if they are calling you you can do several things. First you can send them a certified, return receipt "not me" letter. You can file complaints with the FTC and your State Attorney General, and you may also be able to sue them (without having to wait 5 to 10 years for a class action, if it is approved, to settle) and collect money from them within a year. Depending on the particulars of your case you may be able to collect under the TCPA for at least $500 per violation and possibly under the FDCPA as well or if your State Law covers original creditors then under that. Of course this would require you to seek the counsel of an attorney which means that you would have to something to help yourself.
- R.B.Received a call, the caller identified herself but not the company, asking for the location my son. Nope, not sharing that with a company that doesn't identify itself. That has shady all over it.
- Caller: CPS (a guess)
- MaryThey wanted another family members contact information. I refused to give out that information due to them not telling me the reason for the request.
- IrritatedThese people have called me they've called my boyfriend. We pay cash for everything and have no outstanding debt. I don't know how they got our numbers. Anyone else get a call from these people that don't have a loan with them??

- JackReacher replies to AnonymousThey called you up, asked for someone you don't know and then managed to speak to them while you were on the phone? How?
- Lisa| 5 repliesIf you tell them to not call you any more and that future communication is to be in written, and they call you again, you can report them. Also if they are calling the wrong number, you can report them.
- JackReacher replies to Lisa| 3 repliesWhen giving advice you should know what you are talking about. You don't.
- tjj replies to LisaReport them to whom?
- Lisa replies to JackReacher| 2 repliesIf they are a legit company, you can tell them to stop calling and all future communications will be in written. This is applies to debt collectors. You just need proof that you told them this when reporting them. You can report them to the BBB.
- tjj replies to LisaThe BBB is not a governmental agency.
- JackReacher replies to LisaLike I said, you don't have a clue what you are posting about.
Yes, that applies to third party debt collectors. Note that I said "third party". What the FDCPA does not cover is original creditors and that is what this company is. Try reading and understanding the law. So you report them to the BBB, big deal. Do you really think that they care? Let's look them up on the BBB shall we?Quote:This is applies to debt collectors.
Oh look they have an accredited A+ rating even though they have 187 complaints. Now let's examine that shall we? "Accredited" means that they paid them money for a good rating. A+ means that they have someone who responds to every single complaint. That doesn't mean that the complaint is resolved in the complainants favor, just that they responded. So that doesn't mean much either now does it.
You know what happens when you tell this outfit to stop bothering you because you are behind on your car payments? Can you guess what happens? Probably not so I will tell you, the car gets repossessed. Imagine that! All from your advice! Oops, guess we shouldn't listen to "Lisa" now should we?
