If I were to call and spoof an 888 area code - then hack the caller Id to read 'Publishers Clearing House' - - -  would you answer???  NO......then why do you answer to these dialing machines or scammers? Let's collectively get smarter and NOT answer these collection agency calls.  

It should be pretty easy to turn down/off the phone ringer and answer only to Caller Id phone numbers that we recognize as work, friends or relatives.  (well, maybe not relatives).

When the scammers get no more 'easy customers' to pickup - it might not pay for their continued bad behavior.  Then you'll get visits at your front/rear door(s).  (that's what a pet PitBull is for).

Notice to scammers, spammers, and telephone solicitors of whatever nature:  I did not acquire a telephone and continue to pay for the service to provide you and those of your ilk a direct link to me or my home.  I have Caller Identification and I provide you, via messaging service, a means of leaving me a brief message that I may review on my time and at my leisure rather than on your annoying schedule.  My telephone routine is as follows:  
1.) Telephone rings
2.) I observe the Caller Identification
    a.) If I recognize it and choose to, I answer.  Gone are the days of, “If it rings answer it!”
    b.) If it is not recognized, or is “Unnamed,” or “Toll Free,” or “Wireless Caller” or etc etc I do                not answer and wait to see if a message is left.  If no message is left I assume what you had               to say wasn't worth the wasted time placing the call.  I make a mental note of the call and the          second repetition precipitates an entry to my Call Blocked list.
    c.) If a message is left I choose If or When I may return the call.  If you receive no call back                from me assume your message did not pique my interest or that my brief Internet search                subsequent to your call alerted me to your annoying practice.  Further attempts to contact me          will only stiffen my resolve to Avoid speaking with you with notices being forwarded to              various of my friends and family.

Changing calling numbers or altering the information displayed on the Caller Identification merely increases my data base of Blocked Numbers and detracts from more than enhances your case and further proves your intent to be, at least, an annoyance or burden to my life.  Thanks for reading.

I laugh at all these stupid calls,I couldn't careless if it was the president of the united states,he is still going to have to talk to my answering machine and I doubt very much I would call him back.So who really wins here?Also remember they have a phone bill just like we do,so what are they spending their money on if we don't answer.

Goerge my firend I just called the umber,  It said National RIFle ASSOC, I am a member life member of he NRA, So I double check the number,  IT IS THE NRA,  not a debt collector,  I'm debt free, why would a debt collector  call me over and over,

Called at 10:20 I did not answer, and they did not leave a message.

Called the number back and it did confirm it was the National Rifle Association saying they were sorry they missed us and let us know they were calling to inform us of updates and that they woud be calling back in a few days.

This caller started out saying they were doing a survery and asked questions on gun ownership and buying ammunition restrictions by Obama.  Then they wanted money to buy ads for Second Amendment rights.  I gave them a good tongue lashing and hung up on them, even though I am a gun owner.  I just don't like this kind of tactics.

tHIS FOLKS KEEP CALLING ATLEAST TWICE A WEEK.I am sick and tired of calls like these.Yes they say they are with the national rifle association..These calls can realy be annoying!Hope someone can track them down!!!!!!!!

Just called the number back and clearly stated the NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION calling about some recent updates. I redialed the number from the caller id.  1-888-483-8328 name of ID says 800 service. They constantly call and hang up, last time I answered them with "if your gonna call speak do not hang up or quit calling".

This IS the National Rifle Association.  I received a phone call today, Wed, 14 Nov 12 and asked if they were asking for a donation.  The caller said "I really can't say", so I hung up.  I called the 9-- number for the NRA, and was told that was in fact one of their numbers.  This has nothing whatsoever to do with a collection agency.

Called today Sunday at 4:20 PM.
They would say nothing.
I did not give their automated machine time to transfer this time.
We are on the do not call list.

It's the NRA. All ya gotta do is call the # back. You get an automated message. "Thankyou for calling the NRA", blah blah, it's the NRA.

These folks call from, at least, 3 different numbers   All show Unknown, or Not Provided, on the caller ID, so like many of  the rest of the folks, we don't answer.  They're wasting their time.

They're still a pain in the butt though.

I  get so tired of LIARS who obviously are anti NRA people.  I spoke to these people when they called.  It IS the National Rifle Association.  So please keep your lies to yourself and go,stick your head back in the sand.  Baaaaaaaa.   Signed Sheepdog.

AM LISTED ON THE DO NOT CALL REGISTER.  EVERY DAY, I GET A CALL OR TWO AND THE CALLER ID SHOWS "UNKNOWN CALLER."  The unknown caller number is  an obvious illegal scam of some type, shows as 888-483-8328!

They don't hang up when they get the machine.
