Got 2 unsolicited 'eBay' PINs by text. Typed Help to get info and it listed this number to call. Obviously false texts to worry people and phishing for responses. Don't bite.

I got the funny verification code, from AOL.  Really?

They are legit, their website is: http://verifyphonesms.com/
They help companies with two-factor authentication through SMS. This means that you or someone previously owning your number enabled two factor authentication with whatever company is says is messaging you. It may not be a bad idea for you to check your accounts with whomever is mentioned and change your password there.

I haven't switched phone companies I don't have any reason to get this text!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so angry that I have to deal with this crap this absolute [***].  Get off my phone stop playing on my phone and there better not be any charges or' any other carp.

Getting text messages saying someone is changing passwords on Microsoft and BofA accounts. Just type STOP and send to them to be taken off their list. Also download the free app HIYA to block them.

Strange thing i received it litterally minutes after searching on apple website the solution to the problem created by two step verification... Starting to think someone hacked my computer and is tracking internet activity

I think this is someone trying to hack into my account, I get verification codes in the middle of the night from this number, sometimes 20 in a row, either this or TYahoo is nuts

stop with the messages

Message they want to verify my address and credit info. Be aware of this scam. Came as a text in short code 837401. Won't accept my STOP to prevent future message from the crooks.

send Stop to the #888-511-2891, got basic unsubscribe message for unknown Hotmail ACCT

I just recieved a text  from 732873 stating my verification code was such and such(I won't place that info here) I replied with Stop and got a response saying "Verify phone query: You will receive no further messages from this service. Questions? Please call 888 511 2891. I looked it up online and it belongs to a company called Cosmo Device Incorporated in San Francisco, CA with a website cosmodevice.com I have no idea why I got this as I have never dealt with this company.

Don't know what it is & haven't changed anything recently & didn't download anything. VERY suspicious especially after reading all the other posts! BLOCKED AS SPAM & RAN SECURITY CHECK ON MY PHONE!! I HATE THE INTERNET!!!!

Received a text msg saying: "Wait is over and security info for Ki*****@gmail.com was replaced. Review at https://account.live.com/p
Looking at other postings, it looks like they have gmail as well as Yahoo victims.  I replied "Stop" and got this msg: "Verify Phone Query: You will receive no further messages from this service. Questions? Please call 888-511-2891".  I'm not going to waste my time calling, but thought I would share my experience with others who find this call reporting site.

Received text from "LinkedIn" verification code then received identical text in quick succession. Responded with stop, like others recieved info to call 888-511-2891. Ain't gonna do it (in best Dana Carvey voice doing impression of George HW Bush)

Received text from 288401 in Chinese characters. Notified at&t. They said to reply stop. I did, got this reply: security alerts:you will receive no further messages from this service. Questions? Call 888-511-2891. The interesting thing is..yesterday I got a text in Chinese from 270-216-4458 for the first time. Reported it and blocked them. Then early this morning,  another Chinese text but from a short code. Why did  this start all of a sudden? And Chinese?!

I got a text saying "Your security code is N7KGDV" but nothing about what it was for. I texted HELP and got a text saying "Security Alerts: Please call 888-511-2891" Reply STOP to cancel. I replied and got "You will receive no further messages from this service." I then blocked the number permanently.

Came right here to look it up and noticed everyone is getting this message so I deleted and blocked and reported here to also help others understand that things are not right with this text!

Yes, but you already gave them what they want which is knowing that they have someone on the other end that will respond to them.  You should have simply forwarded the text to 7726 so that carriers will block them.
