    Mr. Anonymous
They called my office manager, said "it's about your merchant account, and it's very important" but we need to talk to the owner.  They are not my merchant account provider.

I have started receiving calls from 888-535-3515 constantly this week.  They are wanting us to fax copies of our merchant statement to them to check for any chargebacks.  I have told them we are not interested and not to call back, but they continue to call and ask for our owner.  I have had a hard time even understanding what the company name is from our caller, and she gets a little defensive when I question.  Think it is just a scam...

They are definitely a scam. The woman kept trying to scare me by saying she would have to "notate my file that I was uncooperative." -- Clearly trying to scare me into thinking I might lose my merchant account if I didn't give her the information she asked for. She kept saying the "amount of time we've been in business" and that we have a "good merchant account record". So, I asked her who my merchant account provider is, since she know we have a "good record". She didn't know and couldn't tell me where she got the information. Nor, did she know how long we've been in business. She asked if our average transaction was still $150. That has never been our average transaction and is not what we put on our application with our merchant account provider.

Whatever you do, don't answer their questions.

Got a call from these people. Don't have a merchant account with anyone and I'm on the do not call list. Just reported them: https://donotcall.gov/
Suggest you do the same, if your number is registered.
Called them back, gave them no information. Their story is total BS.

They have been calling for months - keep asking for the owner- saying they are calling about an important matter concerning our merchant account and must speak with owner- (can not name which one). Refuse to leave more information, refuse to talk with our accounting department, refuse to send anything in writing.
They are beginning to get very nasty with me.

I called back the number minus the extension they left and it says it is the Funds Transfer Alliance. FTA showed up on caller id - previously it has just been the number or listed as anonymous on the caller id.

Called me today on May 9th. Man said his name was Eric and wanted to talk to me about administrative details of my Merchant Account. I asked him what account? I asked him to give me account number information. He kept saying it was about my merchant account. He said he was an underwriter investigating if my account was elligible for 1st tier processing to get same rates as banks. I told him I wasn't giving any information because he was just trying to sell me something or was a fraud. He said neither. I told him I was done talking and hung up. He immediately called back and I just ignored the call. This is definately a shady company. No upstanding company would operate like this despite the company shilld that seem to have provided comments on this site.

Got numerous calls after hours from this number, today it was from a woman named "joy" who identified herself as a "risk analyst" trying to verify if my merchant services account was low risk enough to qualify as a 'bank' and not use my current credit card processor -
When I questioned why she was calling after hours she indicated they were in phoenix

Seriously, I asked her if this was a sales call and she said no, she wanted to confirm my average transaction amount, which is NOHB-

    scam, scam, scam

Got a call from them, said I had been in business long enough in the right industry to qualify for direct interaction with credit card processors, cutting out the middleman. They did not know who my current processor was, nor would they tell me what rate I might qualify for. Said it was not a sales call, did have a list, so they refused to take me off the call list. Went to their website and the website is full of gimmicks and VERY difficult to get straight answer from their website of who they are and what they can provide, just scare tactics and marketing hyperbole (inflated claims). I DO NOT TRUST THEM, SEEMED TO HAVE ALL THE EARMARKS OF A SALES CALL.

Call from 888-535-3515, Crystal Richardson, x3879. Rude woman, couldn't explain to me where she got my number. Said her boss gave her my number and was just told to call. She is a 'risk analyzer' working with FTA, an independent company. Kept saying that this was not a sales call or a telemarketing call. I said I would call my own merchant company (a large co btw) and ask about FTA and who they are to confirm her 'story.' She says that they would not who they were and it would not help. Wow! Okay! Said she was going to end the call b/c I was not letting her finish what she was saying. I hung up.

I just got a call from these guys.  They are clearly VERY well rehearsed.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  I spent twenty minutes going in circles with them to find out what they did and what they knew about me.  They had basic public information on my company, but nothing more.

They tell you this is in reference to your "merchant account" and then ask whether or not you accept credit cards.  I asked which account this was in reference to, and the woman said it was my "merchant account."  But she could not tell me with whom I opened the account or any details about it.  I told her I just wanted to verify that she was someone who already knew my information before I started providing it, but she did a song and dance.  And they are clearly trained to say things like "I am trying to answer your question if you will just give me a chance" and "I cannot answer if you keep talking over me."

Finally she said she was transferring me to her supervisor and put me on hold.  I hung up after a while, but a guy called back about 10 minutes later and confirmed that they do not know anything about me, that they are not related to any actual account that I hold, and said that he would take care of my request not to be called by them again.  He was very nice and we will see if he comes through.  But he did confirm by his answers that this is just a cold-calling, telemarketing system.  They may or may not have something decent to offer (I doubt it, or else they could actually advertise that service instead of pumping me for information), but any business owner that wastes time following up every cold call they get from a cryptic telemarketer will soon be out of business so I say avoid them.

Three, I had NO IDEA that I have a MERCHANT ACCOUNT with you--WHAT THE? Really? SCAM for sure or a really crappy way to do business...Go get an MBA.

They get your information from many sources, one is buying customer lists from PayPal members.  They are trying to get you to use their merchant services.

I just filed the following complaint about FTA and their ilk:

I own a company that has a merchant account.  These people and others who I will identify as they continue to call me, are spouting some crap about doing a risk analysis on my account.  First of all, I'm happy with my bank and the account and I DON'T need a third party cold calling me incessantly trying to get me to do something I do not want to do.  I've told them to stop calling and I specifically spoke with Tiara but she NEVER agree to stop calling my business.  She just continued on with her talking points.  She says she is not soliciting, YET, she wants to move my account on to some "low risk" network.  I am getting my account FREE from my current bank so I cannot do better than that.  I also trust the bank.  These people are shysters and I want to be left alone.  Tiara also talked about a "food chain" of merchant account risk assessors and FTA is at the top.  I can tell you that this whole "food chain" is calling me almost daily and some say they are from the SBA.  I told Tiara to take me off the calling list.  She was undeterred.  I'm lodging this complaint because I feel harassed.  Even though this is a business number I feel I should have the right to not be bothered by these morons.  I do not want to be risk assessed.  I never asked to be risk assessed.  They act as though they are officials from the government which they are not.  They are just two bit telephone solicitors and my fear is that they will catch someone off guard and actually SCREW UP a merchant account.  I believe they are recording the calls and waiting to record the words "yes" or "okay" in response to some benign question in order to splice that into a positive response for their company.  These people are slime and I'm going to report every one of them who continues to call.  I finally had to slam the phone down on this twit who never got the message, despite me yelling at her, that I do not want her services and to STOP CALLING ME!
    Thanks for listening.

Now if this isn't a message from someone that gets a pay check from FTA, I don't know what isn't.
