You call and get told to leave a number name so if collections they don't want your money to bad!

Well, Mark @ SCSI, I truly do NOT have any debts in collection but I am called almost every day (on November 1st there were FIVE calls), asking for people I DON'T KNOW. I logged 29 calls in 14 days.  Caller ID name is UNAVAILABLE and number is UNKNOWN NUMBER. I've told them I don't know the people, told them I've only had the phone number for 3 months, and told/asked them to stop calling. This violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in the following ways:

§ 806. Harassment or abuse
    (5) Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number.
    (6) The placement of telephone calls without meaningful disclosure of the caller’s identity.

§ 807. False or misleading representations
    (10) The use of any false representation or deceptive means to collect or attempt to collect any debt or to obtain information concerning a consumer.
    (11) The failure to disclose in the initial written communication with the consumer and, in addition, if the initial communication with the consumer is oral, in that initial oral communication, that the debt collector is attempting to collect a debt and that any information obtained will be used for that purpose, and the failure to disclose in subsequent communications that the communication is from a debt collector, except that this paragraph shall not apply to a formal pleading made in connection with a legal action.

§ 808. Unfair practices
    (5) Causing charges to be made to any person for communications by concealment of the true propose of the communication. Such charges include, but are not limited to, collect telephone calls, pre-paid cell phone minutes, and telegram fees.

I keep getting called from this number and I have no clue who it is. They don't leave any messages, they just call me constantly, 7am, 10pm, and anywhere in between. I figure if it's important they'd leave a message, but they never do. I don't answer or call back numbers that idk and that don't leave messages. I'm just sick of them callin me all the time.

This number kept calling me but I wasn't getting any message so I finally called them back. It is a state collection agency. Two years ago I moved and had a $25 balance on a utility bill that did not get forwarded to me for some reason after I moved. They were actually very nice - I was pretty embarassed to have this unpaid bill out there that I didn't know about.

I called the local number and got through almost immediately.  Politely explained to the person there
that I've had the phone number they were calling for about 3 months, and I suspected they are trying
to reach the person that had it before me.  Told her that I was still getting calls and text messages
for the other person, she said she'd experienced the same.

They asked my name, confirmed it wasn't who they were looking for, and said they'd take my new
phone number off their call list.  I'll post a followup, if this doesn't stop.

this number is calling me and left message for collecting debt, I already send letter to them ask who are they& ask them to send prove that they are allowed to do that & ask them send details but never send me any info. take care of this company & watch what you say before you say it.
