seems to be BMO calling to get you to give them your money

It's BMO calling me for either a balance transfer promotion, credit card limit increase or to open a new account.

The caller named Sarah Williams asks for a person with a BMO acct if the targeted caller is a female then when you get on the phone and say your not interested she says she is calling from Credit direct with a one time offer which I am sure is in the fraudsters favor. Hang Up. Block number. Get a real job.

I would not pick up the phone and would block the number. BMO appears on the phone (with the number 888-794-3695). Does not seem legit. Was contacted before by a person named Sarah Williams (see Lee's post above), using a different number at the time. There was a male directing her in the background about what to say on the phone. She tries to have access to your personal information. Don't fall for it!

888-794-3695 claims to be BMO giving you a new card. Is not the case.

Just got a call from this number. The phone display said BMO. I didn't answer. Now I am all nerves up.

This number called me and offered me a bunch of credit cards and tried to bait me into what seemed like a scam, said I wasn’t interested 3 times before I had to hang up. Def not BMO and most likely scam

I agree with everybody above.  This is a scam.  If it was a legitimate BMO call they would have been much more professional in the way they responded to what I was saying.  It was a female who called, claiming she was from Credit Direct, affiliated with BMO, and the display on the phone said BMO.

Agreed. I was careless that I first believed it was called from BMO. Did anyone know what I can do if I gave them the info?

I didn't answer as it displayed "suspected spam" as the caller ID. If it was BMO it would have displayed BMO instead.

I have received 9 calls from this number in the last 2 months. Never answered it and they never leave a voicemail. They even call at night after banks are closed for the day

Received three calls within past week - purposely missed the first two, no voicemail, and accepted the third out of curiosity.

In the beginning of the call there was an automated voice asking for a name, like "is this x?", which was repeated when I asked who as the audio was scrambled. It wasn't even my name lol. When I asked who is speaking, there was a click sound and then a real person started speaking. Someone named Sarah says she is from BMO and had sent out a pre-approved LOC offer letter and asked if I had taken a look at it.

I knew this was a phishing call right away and said not interested then hung up. Blocked number.

This was not a smooth scam operation. Kinda sad that there are still people who fall for this.

I just got a call from this number 1-888-734-3695.  She's persistent because it's her fourth attempt at trying to reach me.  The other 3 times I was not home and my mother took the call.  What's unnerving is that she knows my name! My phone says Suspected Spam which tipped me off but I also remembered that BMO does not have my land line phone number.  It only has my cell phone number. I know banks don't call randomly like that especially since she said she's calling on behalf of BMO.  I didn't let her finish. I just hung up.  It's a total scam.

Sara (Sarah?) Williams and she was persistent. Wouldn't provide details why she's calling. Anyhow, I contacted BMO and asked about calls from this number 888-794-3695 and the contact person said that he wasn't able to confirm that number.

This number keeps calling - it comes up as BMO?? Not interested in anything from any bank
