had a bit of an accent... I immediately suspected a scam.

Left a VM:  this message is about a report servicing matter for "my husbands name" and then they used my name since it's on my VM, and said that I could call back as well. This is Fred Douglas from Bank of America. Give us a call back at 888-800-9030 and if you don't trust the number you can always find that number on our website at bankofamerica.com and you can call back again after verifying. Then call us back. Again this is simply regarding an important servicing matter 800-900-9030

they called from 800-310-5587 (forgot to add that)

10/16/24  I received three calls claiming they were B of A.  Requested I call back.
I called and they asked for last 4 of SS# or Acct #.  I hung up and called the number on the back of my credit card 800-421-2110.  And they asked for last 4 of SS# or Acct #.  Then, B of A customer service fraud department confirmed to me that B of A did, in fact call me three times.
Based on my experience, 888-800-9030 is a legit Bank of America customer service number.
