- gv canada replies to richardI was hacked in the same way. I was trying to get to myrogers to see my usage info & the likes. Some win an iPad2 window popped up. I was trying to get to my account & could not get past this Web page so I typed in my info to get past it. NO MENTION of $$s per text at anytime or anywhere. Rogers - who allowed this 3rd party - is now essentially telling me it's my problem.
- PIssesThis [***] cost me $45 on one bill! I was getting texts but had no idea what they were about so I ignored them. No idea how they got my info. I call the number and when you try to talk to a rep. you get "lines are all busy, try again later" and it hangs up.
- cg00nI got a bunch of text messages from this number too. Calling it results in an auto-response that asks for your mobile number and purports to stop any such messages in future. We'll see if it works. Meanwhile, the number shows up on http://www.mobilemessenger.com/consumerprotection.php as a Canadian Customer Protection line. There is also a FAX number and an email address and a 30-day money back guarantee. I've tried that too: again, we'll see....

- Nancy| 6 repliesI just called that number 1-888-846-6939 from the company Mobile Messager and waited for a representative. I explained to the customer service rep how I got scammed by typing in www.googe.ca instead of www.google.ca and entered my number for a contest. And since then I was getting spammed with text messages. My cell phone provider is Fido and they refused to reverse any charges and provided me the number 1-888-846-6939 to deal with them directly. Fido also informed me if you called and talked to a rep they will issue a check to you with the amount they have been charging.
I ended up waiting 15mins for a rep, "Leonard", and explained the scam situation. He then replied "Well there is a 30 day money back guarantee" and took my address information to send me a check back for all the charges. Supposedly it'll take 10-14 working days to receive the check. I will update this post once I received the check.- Caller: Mobile Messager

- BillyThe exact same thing happened with me as with richard. Got three texts in rapid
succession and saw on my Bell mobility bill one $0 next two $5 each.
Text was yourloversname.com with a pin. From Mobile Content @1-888-846-6939. - JenniferI recieved 2 texts in row from "Mobile Messenger °79123 My IQ Online 1-888-846-6939" . I was charged 5$ each. I believe it is the same text I recieved a few months earlier from answering something on facebook a few months earlier. when it happen then I called rogers, they told me etxt stop and I woulndt get any more. Now I just got 2 more texts from them again. this time i didnt put my cell number on anything! learned that already. so i didnt open them and called rogers immediatly, they told to text back stop and I wouldnt get charged. but my bill just came in and again 10$ charge. I called them and they said it wasnt their problem. i have to pay because they have to pay them. and they cant block them without blocking all text messages to me. I dont know if any other provider can, but let me know because my contract is up and I will switch. I cant believe anyone can text you, charge you money, and get away with it, all without your permission and not even opening the text! what BS! I called the number and its a machine telling me to enter my cell number to stop any other text. I did like rogers said we will see what happens. They could at least pay the bill as I have already warned them about it and already did what they said to do so I wouldnt get charged again. but instead they told me call the company to get my money back, but yet I have no number and have no idea who they are. does anyone know? can i actually get my money???
- Jennifer replies to Nancydid you get your money back yet???
- upset sleeperyes, you guys are right, we complained it to Rogers and they said they could not help, because they are billed by those companies using the same trunk line, they have to pay those bills to them. They said that the bills are from different companies giving them different phone numbers so they could not detach them. So whatever the Rogers bill to your end even asking you for a $100 for that mobile service, you still have to pay. Now you can see those companies are very cunning to earn money and the mobile company such as fido, bell, rogers even cannot protect their customers to pay these kind of money. They charged interest to their customers for not paying their bills are easy for them but to protect their customer's right, they found difficult.

- GraceThis is a scam...ridiculous amounts of money they are pulling in from all sorts of numers.... Rogers is pathetic....not there for their customers. First it was my phone. Now it's my son's phone. Hundreds of dollars later....There is all this talk of privacy this and privacy that...so why is someone allowed to charge my number for something I did not use?!! This has got to stop. If Blockbuster could be sued, so can Rogers. Blockbuster is now out of the business. The big giants can come down, and when they do, they fall hard. I am going to the media with this. Hopefully Ellen Roseman from the Toronto Star can get to the bottom of this. Enough is enough.
BTW....the first time it happened, you could actually reach them at the number that appears under Third Party Charges on your Rogers bill. They told me, they would send a refund. No cheque ever arrived. Now with my son's charges....when you call the number, (888-846-6939) they've gotten wiser. They "allow" you to remove your number from their database so that you won't be charged in the future, but what about the dollars they stole from you in the past? There is no option to get a refund..no human being there to answer your call. THIS IS ROBBERY--ALL CONSUMERS OF ROGERS SHOULD CHECK THEIR BILLS CAREFULLY. If they have done it to me and my son, I'm sure they are stealing money from you too!!! - arturo replies to Carloshi carlos how are you?
