    I got the recorded message on my phone too under a restricted number.   I called the number and entered my cell number (which I know regret) and got nothing.  I tried to get to an operator but failed.

    I do not have US Cellular- I just wanted to see what was up.

    Stay away from this message.  This is not US Cellular.  Only contact US Cellular with the number printed on your statement.

    Just talked to US Cellular Rep.  I checked out the number, told Jamie that it seemed fishy.  I started saying "the number was 1-888-939..." Jamie finished it with "3900?".

    She was very helpful and just told me that it is the Financial Services phone number... You've got a balance overdue PallyGirl, as do I.

    Just wanted to clarify, it is a legit number, but it is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL to call "Private" and with a very sad sounding voice deliver a message regarding personal information.  Try calling the main Customer Service number at 1-888-944-9400.  That lady sounds so happy and nice.  They should use her to give the 1-888-939-3900 message!!!

    If you get a call from this number it means that somebody with a US Cellular account isn't paying their bill and on their account they have your phone number listed as a contact.  In lots of cases it is an old phone number that maybe you have inherited.  Just call the 888-939-3900 number and tell them to remove your number from that list.  When you call you will get a recording telling you to enter in your phone number, but instead just enter in some random phone number like 555-123-4567.  You may have to do it again as it will say it doesn't recognize it or something, just enter it in a 2nd time and then they will tell you they are transferring you to a customer service rep.  Here you can tell them to remove your phone number.  If you don't trust that phone number then just call U.S. Cellular direct from the customer service number on their website.  I think its 944-9400 or something.  Good luck.

    I keep getting these calls and i dont have us cellular. just seems like a scam. i get it usually twice and hour everday, except sunday. it gets real annoying during school

    Calls at least 2 times a day. As early as 4am and as late as midnight. Claims to be US Cellular with a very important message about my account. I have never, ever used US Cellular. They have been calling for well over a month. And it is as if they have some sort of gift to know when I am alseep.

    I called back and got a company that I think identified itself as "Go Cable".  When I asked about the call the sales rep said they had no connection to US Cellular and were a clearing house for cable TV service.

    Believe it or not, this Is a valid number for one of the Finance Offices of U.S. Cellular.
    Understanding that no one or no thing is perfect - they do make mistakes. A simple reply to the number left in your message will allow the details to be discussed and resolved.

    You're absolutely [***]. The is the phone number of US Cellular's financial services department. If we're calling you it's probably pretty important. Calling the number on your statement just gets you transferred to us and you have to re verify yourself.

    I got a text to call that number about my account.  Knew account was OK so searched the number.  Glad I did.  Just got the same text again.  Hope this is not the start of that crap!!!!

    One of the messages US Cellular leaves in voice mail or the automated message is: "This is U.S. Cellular. We're sorry we missed you. It is important that you return our call regarding your account. Our number is 1 888 939 3900. Once again, this is U.S. Cellular, and our number is 1 888 939 3900."
    Some customers may receive text messages with information such as: "It is important that you call U.S. Cellular as soon as possible at 888-939-3900 regarding your account.".
    US Cellular will not leave more details about the reason for the call in case the message is read or heard by someone other than the Account Owner or Authorized User. It is perfectly save to call 611, 888-944-9400 or 888-939-3900. Calling the number in the message will direct the call to the department that is trying to connect with the US Cellular customer.
    For NON-Customers: US Cellular will attempt to contact customers on those contact numbers customers provided. Unfortunately, US Cellular does not always receive updated information when customer information changes. NON-Customers should contact us. Advise which message you receive and ask to review if your number is being called and remove the number from the respective dial list. We will assist with these requests. Also, selecting O will by-pass the requirement to enter a telephone number and take you to a live person. Hope this was helpful.

    My minor child started receiving these calls months ago, and just didn't mention it for a bit...today he got 6 of them, so he finally begged me to call US Cellular.  They said it was a valid number and someone had his number down as a contact number on their account...long story short, SOMEONE owes them money but it is not us.  They put his number on their do not call list which will stop the calls to his phone and apologized for the issue, they were very nice and helpful about it all.
