To all users reading this.  They change their script according to suit their needs.  A computer does not tell another computer it's infected.  It is indeed a scam.  One that caught our attention (refers to his own name).

We know you read these posts.  We know you're using voip providers.  We know you're using war dialers like 5/9.  We know you're using sales force or sales geni to generate a leads list with an age bracket of 50+ ages.  So many internet services your business depends upon.  Tsk - Tsk my friend, and I was soo rooting for you too.  (in his best peter griffon voice, "That means two things")

Just got a call from an East Indian saying he was from Windows Tech Support. . . I told him that was really a shame and that I wouldn't have a MicroSoft product up my butt if I had room for a lumber yard. He repeated that he was from Windows Tech Support. . . I told him I don't do ANYTHING Windows and never would and he needed to cram my phone number us his butt!

Just say quietly: " Yes officer, this is the call we want traced." It worked for me.

These computer scammers called our house ON THANKSGIVING. Do not give them any information whatsoever. These d-bags have no shame.

I've gotten calls from these low life's before. Same old scam about my computer being affected by viruses and I was in extreme danger of losing everything on my hard drive.  First time it happened I was half asleep and got as far as them asking for access to my computer and telling me how to give it to them. By that time I was fully awake and told them I had to call Microsoft f o r verification o f who he was.  He tried to tell me that Microsoft didn't want to be bothered because they had too many calls to make and had hired his company to help them. Now I was sure something wasn't right.  I told him I'm calling anyway and hung up.  I called Microsoft and they told me they NEVER outsource anyone to do business for them and that this was a scam to take over my computer.  So glad I called because another man called and wanted the same thing and I told him that someone else had called and I called Microsoft to verify they were legit and you're not and that they knew about your scam.  I told them not to call again or I would report them to the CIA! LOL! He hung up. That was several months ago. I have received another call today.  Let it ring. I've discovered over the years most 800/888 calls are either wanting money for something or outright scamming. I've set up a block on this number and added it to my contacts as scammers. I pity the people especially the elderly that don't understand what is going on and give these devils information.

They called me this evening at 11:30 and said he was from the Windows security team and that my computer was downloading tons of "hacking files" and that he can prove it by telling my computer license ID.  I called him on it, gave him a hard time about where he was calling from and how late it was but he insisted he was calling from Mountain View, CA at the Windows security center, so I let him talk (knowing he was full of $#!7).  He wanted me to let him talk me through scanning for the hacking files.  He talked to me like I was a complete moron, I finally told him I know how to use my computer (because I'm a software engineer).  He had me bring up a cmd prompt, then had me type "'a' as in apple, 's' as in sugar, followed by another 's' as in sugar", then said "hold one moment", then hung up on me...leaving me staring at a cmd prompt with 'ass' on the screen.  I had to laugh!  I got to him enough to call me an ass.  Job well done on my part.  Thick, thick Indian (dot, not feather) accent (no surprise there).  Just don't answer...or do and have tons of fun with them!

A female with an Indian accent called at 7:30 a.m. Saying something about Windows 7 and Internet compromise. I had to ask her to repeat herself cause I didn't understand what she was saying. I asked why is she calling at 7:30 in the morning and told her that I don't even have Windows 7. She asked if I had a Mac, I told her no and she hung up.

Just got a call, man with heavy Indian accent, claims he is calling from Windows Technical Support. Claims his records indicate I'm using Windows.  
I say no I'm not.  
He asks 'so you have no computer or laptop?'  
I said no. Asked for the name of his company.
He says 'Windows Technical Support'.
I ask 'Is it Microsoft?'
He replies 'No we're not Microsoft, we're Windows Technical Support.'
I asked, 'OK, what is your mailing address?'.  
He says 'Hold on'. puts me on hold.  I'm sure he was asking someone 'what do I do now?'
He comes back and says 'Once you give me your information, I will give you our address.'
I replied, 'Under the law in my state you must provide the company name and address.'
He replied 'but you said you were using Windows'.
I replied 'No I did not!'
He replied 'Then why the hell are you wasting my time!'
He hung up before I could remind him that HE CALLED ME!

I enjoy taking up their time.  One less person or two he can bother today!
