Can't get rid of this shower of crooks. never signed up to them.

ive just got a sms message from 89025 saying "FreeMsg: U r a member of our videochat service for £3 per week untill you send stop to 89025. Help 08000148873. Chat message/ calls are 50p per sms/min. livec 18+
Is there anyway they can actually charge me, should i text stop to that number, how they get my number i dont give it to nobody i dont know and certainly dont give it online

PhonePayPlus have the following advice:

"Unfortunately PhonepayPlus does not have any information about the shortcode number 89025.

You can call our helpline on 0800 500 212 (Mon-Fri, 0900-1700).

You could alternatively contact your mobile phone network and ask them for details about this number and advice about what to do next."

Any organisation charges for its services in this way must be registered with PhonePayPlus, so a call to them would be a good idea.

tried sending stop to 89025 and message just fails every time

get the same message saying:

This appeared on my phone, they charge you £3 per week if you do not send stop message back. Noticed I was being charged for this, I did not subscribe, and did not get any notice of charges, do not known how I managed to "subscribe" to this. The number refers to a site called pbhoneys.com, appears to be a porn site. I  have sent a stop message, I received a reply stating that the service had been stopped, waiting to see if any more charges appear.

They will charge your phone account with £3 every week until you text stop to them. I just did that, waiting to see if I get any more charges.

This is a scam...!!!! I ended paying 20 more than my original contract bill last month!!!!!

i had the same problem -  a mystery text appears saying i'm now a member of the video chat system.
Now i have received my next phone bill and i was charged £6 for 4 texts at £1.50 each all sent at 08:34 on January 12th 2013 - .   I did NOT send 4 texts...

I got the same text message from 89025 so I rang my phone network asked them what they can do, they told they had charged me £6.25 on the 22nd from 2 numbers. They then told me I have to text stop to 89025 and 69027, my network 3 knocked £5 off my bill now I just need to wait to see if I incur any more charges

I also have had a similar issue with this number popping up on my bill. I called Orange, and they told me that it was an adult chat line and was costing me £3 a week. They couldn't do anything about it, but supplied me with a contact number (08444 457707) it is an automated line so I didn't get to vent my anger/displeasure at the staff for this total rip off scam! I'm eagerly awaiting next month's bill to see if it stops! Fingers crossed. I hope this helps other people out too.

I got no credit what to do

I got caught too, Orange said it was a "business information communication" but no idea what. They gave me the number of 0844 3722 331, which is for imimobile.com, a company that offers mobile services to providers. Obviously, one of their providers is being very naughty. I managed to cancel whatever it was so my number is clear.

Hi guys, same problem for me. The 89025 number belongs to, Live Communications Limited, 69 buchannan  street, Glasgow, G1 3HL. Their customer care number is 0800 0148873. Called them and said I would be reporting them for theft, demanded my money back & was told they would send a cheque. watch this space.

Oh Yeah, also said she would remove my number from their data base

I also received messages from this number with a website link and a comment about pics and vids.  U can ask your network to block premium messages.  That should work

just called the no.,they said 10 days theyll send me refund cheque..fingers crossed,thanks alot for the info @jockt..
