I received a text message from this number with the heading VZW FREE MSG stating a card was charged over $100, a payment that was applied to my account. I don't use Verizon and don't know why I received this text.

I got the same number telling me that  constantly of this. The Text message goes like this

"VZW FREE MSG: The pmt of $245.37 was applied to your account. Card ending in 5348 was charged. Thank you for your Payment." I think we may be getting texted from the actual verizon simply because our numbers might match up with someone on there plans and the texts get sent to both parties. After all multiple Wireless companies use the same towers and sometimes signals can scramble or get sent to the wrong recipient if the numbers are close enough.  I get one of these like every month telling me that a payment has been made and no scam offers or anything telling me about free deals or cheap cars or that i won the Lotto. Also the Number of money changes constantly as well. Just last month it was $255.94 that was charged to a card i don't own.

Txt "VZW FREE MSG: the pmt of $242.78 was applied to your account. Card ending in .... was charged. Thank you for your payment."

We received the same type of response and it was legitimate- from Verizon.

They probably could do a better job of stating their identity on their texts because they look like phishing.....

VZW Free Msg. This cell phone number is now unregistered from My Verizon. If you feel that this is in error, please call customer service.

Rec'd message (04:14 a.m. when customer service is not open, of course) that my secret question had been changed.  I did not change it.  My account was hacked and charged on by some criminal trying to use it related to Vodafone.  I used Verizon's International Service a few times in the last two years, and will probably not do that again.

I just received the following text message and I'm terrified that someone has stolen my credit card information: C OSWALD, $415.67 eCheck pmt authorized 08/19 posted to your acct and will debit from bank acct ending in 9791 the next bus. day. Questions *611

Axxx, $358.37 eCheck pmt authorized 08/24 posted to your acct and will debit from bank acct ending in 9908 the next bus. day. Questions *611

Received this message just now. I texted *611 and have received no reply.  I don't have a bank account with those numbers. No idea what this is.

Got the message that my secret question has been changed or established...

This message came to me today, telling me if I clicked on the link, I could sign up for free Justin Timberlake tickets. It’s from Turkey. I do have Verizon, but I don’t believe that it’s actually Verizon

I recieved the same message and it also does not have my account number

I keep getting obscene and threatening calls from this number.

Received this message:

Verizon Msg: Great news! Disney+ will be included in your Unlimited Plan for 1 year. Then $6.99/mo after. Click m.vzw.com/m/disneyplus to be notified when it's available.

I just received the same text. Crazy.

This is the message  I received from the same number. I think this is a scam of some sort. "Verizon Msg: Your Unlimited plan just got even better. We're giving you one year of Disney+, $6.99/mo after. Now you'll have access to your favorite movies and series from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more. Enroll now at m.vzw.com/m/disneyonus. Reply "X" to stop messages."

Got this exact message.  I called Verizon and they assured me that my phone was still a registered phone on that account.  Did you ever find out what it is

Got the same message. Wanted to know what card we used when we paid. Please do not send me anymore texts stating that my bill is on the way and how much. Looked up the number from the text and shows it's from Turkey.
