Report a phone call from 90-008-000-0000 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- me| 2 repliesGot a text containing gibberish. It starts off with VZW then says the date for last night as well as a time. Then it has random letters and numbers, which look like they could be some sort of programming code.
- MoodyCatI got the same text this morning at 7:40am.
// VZWDM;2012/04/26 05:25:24 GMT;2504.052;;;MBF;;0;;MB;B - kelly replies to medid we figure this out? I got the same text this morning
- LoryYeah...I just got one this morning, and had a heck of a time with my phone!! What's going on with Verizon's service? Everyone is having issues lately!
- Caller: Verizon
- PhilKI started noticing texts from that number when I started using a text/SMS blocking utility and then setting it to block anything not in my addressbook. (Did not see them prior to setting that last setting)
Doing some web searches reveals people discussing this issue at least as far back as 2010.
Someone somewhere posted that when they stopped blocking these messages, they did not show up as regular texts either.
My educated guess: they are specially-formatted management/custodial messages sent to cellphones that are recognized by the cellphone as a short 'data dump'. Most likely, it updates the local app that keeps track of usage. On my phone I see them about once a day.
The format of the message appears to have a datestamp, and several data fields that are "semicolon delimited". Breaking down the dump posted by MoodyCat on April 27:
// VZWDM;2012/04/26 05:25:24 GMT;2504.052;;;MBF;;0;;MB;B
//VZWDM = "Verizon Wireless Device Management" (guess)
2012/04/26 05:25:24 GMT = Time/Datestamp in UTC (GMT) timezone
2504.052 = ? Perhaps a management node number or tower number
;;; = 2 empty data fields
MBF; = Megabytes of data used? (On my phone there is a semicolon after the "MB" string)
0; = ? A data field where the value is 'zero'
; = empty data field
MB; = another "megabytes" figure - could be MB over quota or something
B = End of record- Caller: Verizon Wireless
- Call type: Text message
- PhilKUpdate to my last post:
The first numeric field after the date/timestamp most likely is your data usage.
Because in my case, that number increments up each day I get this text.
Day 1: 25.750
Day 2: 28.288
Day 3: 28.863
Day 4: 30.330
Day 5: 31.214- Caller: Verizon Wireless

- JorrynI keep getting message from the same type of number, but everyone that has the same problem has Verizon and I don’t. The message I get is like a link or something. I never open it, but it includes the date of which it sent to me and a time. I block the numbers every time I get them, but They send it in different numbers. Like the number will start off the same as others but it ends differently. It’d like the number is a foreign number. I think I might try to call the number and see what happens 🤔
- Caller: +90 (008) 000 62 02
- JorrynUpdate to my previous message: I tried calling them and it is definitely a foreign number because when I called my call time said “distant” and went back to timing my call. Since I don’t have long distance calling, I wasn’t able to reach out to anyone or anything.
- Caller: +90 (008) 000 62 02
- JorrynAnother update: If you are getting these messages, someone is attempting or has already hacked your phone. I called apple technical support and they let me know what was going on. If your phone is having this problem I highly suggest you call your phone company technical support. Ex: if you have a samsung call Samsung technical support.

- WendyI got a message from this number with a code for resetting my password, which I didn’t attempt and asking me to call a number if I didn’t attempt to change password. I’m not calling. This is sketchy!

- User1I highly suggest not clicking any link from this number. It could put malicious code on your phone or gather your information. So far I have left it alone and everything seems okay.
