For me it was "calling on behalf of PC back" to sell life insurance.

I can confirm this is from Canadian Tire offering credit card holders life insurance from Canada Life. People calling them scammers are incorrect, as they don't ask you for information. They have information on you before they even call. I went through the process pretending I was interested, and I was never asked for any sensitive information (only for my birthday). When it came to address, he was speaking my address and then just asking if it was correct. Didn't ask me for any banking information.

I meant to say this was from Optima, working on behalf of credit card companies to sell Canada Life insurance, which is affiliated with but I don't think exclusive to Canadian Tire Mastercard. This would explain why even if you don't have a Canadian Tire Mastercard you may still be getting calls from them.

Its a telemarketer in Whitby Ontario working for the banks, GM  and several insurance companies.  Im from Whitby and have several friends that have worked there in the past. They have contracts with the major banks and if you have an account with any of them they can call you at any time. Pain in the [***]

for me they said they're from Canada Life insurance. and for some canadian tire mastercard. so it's a dubious number.

The best advice I can give is don't use your landline phone for anything except outgoing calls and don't give out your landline phone number to ANYONE.  Use your cell for everything else and install a Call Blocker app on your cell phone to block these annoying calls,
works like a charm for me.

Optima didn't answer so I called back and they asked for my personal info to be removed i hung up and blocked them on my iPhone a great feature! Thanks Apple!

This is harassment!!!!!!!!!!!

This number is Optima Communications - a call center contracted for marketing / sales purposes.  They tend to call me daily around the same time either 9:30 am or 3 pm it has been for different companies (Sears, Canadian Tire). The do not leave a message if there is no answer.  I requested to be on their do not call list twice but I am still getting calls.  I have also called the number back and an auto answer says it is Optima Communications and what they do.  There is an option to leave your name and number to be added to their do not call list which I have done....and today -  3 pm another call which I did not answer and no voicemail.

If I don't recognize it, I don't answer it, simple. My phone shows it's from Oshawa, Ontario.

They call over and over and over....  never leave a message.  Never speak when I answer.    I think. It's time to give up landline.

Block the number from your phone

They called me and claimed they are from Canadian Tire credit card and informed me that I got a reward of $ 10,000 . they tried to get yes answers from me asking do you have a spouse? are you James? I answered YEAH. I called Canadian Tire credit card department and asked them about this number and the type of the call, they advised don't respond to them and don't give information about your self and your card.

If you listen to the message when you call that number it will tell you to press 2 and leave your name and phone number and they will remove you from the list.  I did.

Rings and drops!!

Every, single, day. I don't pick up, but their idiotic robo caller keeps on wasting its time thinking that I am stupid enough to eventually respond. Instead, I'm now writing angry letters insisting that the government finds ways to penalizing these illegal callers that are breaking the laws.

This number repeatedly calls here, if we answer, no one is there.  If we leave it, no message is left.  But they keep calling several times a day.  I wish they would stop.  Is there a way to block a number?
