This number calls several times a day.Why

I just hooked up  my brand new telephone line today.....no one, and I mean no one has my new number.  2 hours after my phone was connected these people called me.  It has to be scammers.

I too am getting calls from this number.  When I answer they do not respond.  They do not leave a message on my answering machine.  If this is illegal why isn't somebody doing something about it?

Thisas phone number has called my phone at least twice a day for the last week. When I answer they disconnect.

This phone number has called my phone several times in the last week and hangs up when I answer. They call every day and hang up.

Just call the number back and go though the flow chart to be removed from their list.

Just in the last week or so, I've begun to receive calls from this "MOD" number.  I have tried picking it up but hanging up immediately - but it continues...probably 2-3 times a day this number comes in....as early as 9:00 a.m.  I'm just going to keep hanging up on them when I'm near enough to the phone, and see if this doesn't take care of the problem - eventually, I would think they would stop calling.  Crazy.  And yes, against the law.

I too get these calls.  I called the March of Dimes 914-428-7100. They informed me that this was one of their telemarkerters.  She assured me that they would remove my number from their calling list.  She pulled up my name and number and address.  They will removed my info from this list in 24 - 48 hours
The calls orignate in NewYork.  I live in Ga. Hope this will help.

well do not call list stinks.  This number is # 40 on my list of calls   I have caller ID and will not answer a number I do not know  Someone needs to start taking these people to court.

called to ask me to send out letters in January. will send letters and all  I  will have  to do is supply stamps.  what is the problem with this ?  Please  enlighten me.

I get at least 2 calls everyday from this number.  I called it back and there was a recorded March of Dimes message.  I am extremely unlikely to donate to an organization that calls multiple times each day until I am so annoyed I end up here.  Dumb way to pursue donations.

We do not get MOD identification for this number when it calls.  It is identified as a cell number?  There is never anyone on the line 'if' you pick up.

Have received 14 calls from this number over the last three weeks. Usually with MOD on the caller ID & then an occasional celluar call ID. Have never picked up call since we don't know anyone in this area code. They never leave a message. They are a persistent nuisance.

Rec calls one to three times daily.  Ans machine picks up. Never leave message.

I received 2 calls last night and one at eight o'clock this a.m. Appears as Yonkers N.Y. on call list.

Save all phone logs, date and time, take to court and then have original phone logs suppena from phone company.  It is $1000.00 per violation for phone number spoofing.
