- KAMJust got a call from this number and called back it was disconnected or no longer in service. 1:10 PM 9/18/2010
- mehraneSame thing.. about once a month calls my cell phone. It is a spanish robocall saying you won some offer to claim your prize press 1 now.
Someone needs to report them, reading posts here they obviously don't care about the do not call list, or that they are illegally telemarketing to cell phone users.- Caller: unlisted
- Call type: Telemarketer
- anonymous| 1 replyI just got this call a few minutes ago. When I said hello, a signal modulation occurred.
I know this was a signal modulation (sort of the same type of modulation you here during the dial-up protocol as your computer's modem handshakes to the remote computer) because I recognized it from my study of general computer science.
Its a pretty weak scam if all they are doing is checking to see if phone numbers are 'alive'. In fact, I wouldn't even call it a scam because it is so WEAK. These amateurs probably got a hold of some smart dialer technology and are just having fun with it.
If they really wanted to cause some problems, they should be using their time more effectively and writing some phone malware, not playing around with an at least 20-25 years outdated piece of hardware/software.- Call type: Prank
- anonymous replies to anonymousI'd say its probably just some temporary VOIP number being used to propagate this weak [***] 'scam'. And, yes, of course you are going to get the busy signal when you call back! The smart dialer must use the same number to make the thousands or millions of calls on its automatically generated list of phone numbers.
It isn't that hard to write a computer program that generates all the possible phone numbers in the world, although it would probably take a grid computer to build the list fast enough.
I once tried generating all the IPv4 addresses and ended up with a 39Gb text file and a couple of days of processing time. That is a process which requires 10^12 different addresses. - S. PETTSTATIC AT FIRST THEN SPANISH. CALLED BACK AND GOT A BUSY TONE....
- patmy mom got a call from this number. no message, just airtime
- Lone Wolf replies to NickyGot the call for the 2nd time this week. Either static or applause at the beginning of the call then the spanish woman recorded message. Glad to see I'm not the only one getting these calls. I think the first call was from the 13th.
- Anon replies to Danie| 1 replyI just got called by this number about 15 minutes ago. I also happen to speak Spanish. The recorded woman on the other end was kind enough to congratulate me for winning some lottery and about a million dollars (in Spanish), and that I should press 1 in order to claim the money.
Upon attempting to inform the automated women on the other end in Spanish that I don't play the lottery, the call abruptly ended at 0:21 seconds.
Ignore this call. It must be on some sort of automatic calling loop scamming for information because the number, if one were to try to call back, is always busy. - Larry G.Just got a call about 1:00pm on 9/18/10! Same, lady in Spanish, and I hung up immediately. What is going to happen?
I did some research on it. It's a land line. The carrier is Verizon North Inc - Wi. It's out of Fond du Lac county in WI. Listed from St. Cloud....
That's info I got by paying for it via Intelius. - Larry G. replies to AnonThanks for the translation info. I didn't press any number myself, just hung up.

- JThis is stupid, I recieved two calls from them. I think it is a number that makes a whole lot of money when you pick up. So DON'T PICK UP.
