They are calling businesses to sell a credit card machine with lower rates. Got this call at my place of business. A young guy named Justin said he was calling from Merchant Services and wanted to go over the percentage rates that BB&T is charging us for accepting credit cards. He then asked me for the zon number on our credit card machine and the company's March statement from Merchant Services. I said, "If you are from Merchant Services as you told me, you would already have this information." He then told me he was from First Data (although the caller id said 'Universal Card') and that his company was partnering with our Merchant Services to verify that BB&T is not overcharging us to take credit cards. So I told him to give me his name, phone number and address and I would verify this with BB&T and call him back. Miraculously his name then changed from Justin to Al. He stated that BB&T doesn't know they are conducting these calls because they have been hired by Merchant Services to be on the 'back end' to call BB&T customers to confirm they are not charging their customers too much to take credit cards and to please get my March statement. I again told this idiot if Merchant Services hired him, he would already have the information he was requesting. They need to come up with a new lie. This one didn't work.

Received same spiel from "Oswaldo" at this number.  He said he works for Small Business Growth Alliance, and that his job was to make sure our CC processing company was not passing through extra charges.  He wanted me to fax our CC statement to him so he can verify.  It just made no sense.  Checked with my CC company...has been happening.  They are just trying to pitch new contract with new company...which I keep stating that I was not interested in.

Some sort of credit card/merchant service related sales call. After I told her I didn't have time to talk and asked her exactly what she was selling then she said "If you are not interested, why should I waste my time explaining it to you." I hang up.

Got a call as well. Told him we were happy with who we have and he hung up. DO NOT LEASE A MACHINE. They are nightmare contracts!

Swindlers and liars.  These people will not stop calling me.  I get a call from at LEAST once every 3 days.  Will not take no for an answer.  My new hobby is to see how much of their time i can waste.

The called ID said Universal Crd.  The guy said he was from  SBGA and they need to run our free PCI compliance scan.  I said we have square.  When I asked for more information he hung up.

This company called and I said no we already have a credit card machine and I hung up they proceeded to call back 16 freaking times over and over and over tying up our phone line NH time I got a little bit more pissed off who in the hell would even want to use a service that people act like that.

Female caller requests to speak to "the owners." When asked for her identity, she said she was "not a solicitor at all, I'm calling from a small business co-op." I gave her the business's email address. She claimed, "we don't email at all." I pointed out that real organizations use email, and that her phone number came in as "Scam likely." She claimed it was her "personal cell phone," which obviously it isn't, since it's showing up here. She repeated her claim that she wasn't trying to sell anything. I hung up.
