Why pay any compay to find out who is calling you. Just don't answer the phone. They will go away.
The phone calls may be comming from companies that make you pay to find out information that use to be free. THINK PEOPLE!!!

949-757-0844 called me from Irvine CA.  Recorded message says someone wants to talk to me about "rising crime" in my area.  Right.  I pressed one and the person greeted me with some security system name.  No thanks, spammers.

Didn't leave a message.  Folks, NEVER press a number to be removed from the DNC list; it's a scam.  The FTC is trying to crack down.  See the new robocall page at

Robo call recording begins with "Hello, "do not hang up! You have been chosen to receive a GE security system with health alert. Your system is free!" They also use some scare tactics saying "the FBI has reported an increase in crime in your area". It then requests you to press 1 to speak to a representative or press 2 to be placed on their do not call list. The recording closes with "Thank you and congratulations!" Company name is Security Services. After pressing 1 it goes to another recording that says "All of our representatives are busy, please leave a message". However another recording cuts in saying "this mailbox is full" and THAT recording is inturrupted by another saying "I'm sorry, an error occurred" and it hangs up. On a direct redial to the number a recording says it has been disconnected or is not in service.

I think it would be nice of every one who this person calls for us to mail in one of these card inserts in magazines to this person to show wht we think of him or her.  Imagine thousands of magazines being delivered to them.

just got this so looked up disconnect number tone and found one on wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_information_tones  It's the intercept tone forth one down.  I've recorded it at the beginning of my answering machine - the whole six seconds, and then I put my regular message.  HOPING this will stop some of the repeat robo calls since do not call doesn't do it.  Shouldn't take long to figure out if it does work.

How many of us on the National Do Not Call Registry actually report the numbers of the callers who bother us? I report every one of them, not that it seems to have done much good.

I wish they would leave me alone and call Rachael at Card Holder's Services instead. That [***] calls 3 times a day and every time, I press 3 to be taken off their list. I've reported it half a dozen times and they keep trying.

Unfortunately, I have Comcast as a phone provider. I can only list 10 spam numbers at a time.

Would you believe that a "friend or neighbor" has given them my number?  They want to give me a "free wireless home security system that will be monitored by my local police, fire and medical".  Even free installation!  Can you beat that?

Very similiar to "free security system" calls I have received from 425-336-8219 and 360-322-6269 in the last couple of weeks.  If you actually talk to them the first thing they will phish for is personal information which of course will include a credit card or bank account number to verify you are who you say you are.

These are scammers using auto-dialing equipment (robo callers) and they could care less about the DNC system.  Only honest telemarketers will comply with DNC.

You should file complaints about this type of (attempted) telephone fraud with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)  http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/phonefraud/report.shtml and /or the Federal Communications Commission: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints.  Also file a complaint with your state's attorney general's office.  In Florida the AG's website: http://myfloridalegal.com/Contact.nsf/Contact

I thought it was a relative from Orange County (area code 949) so picked it up and said her name.  But just dead air.  I said hello hello several times, still dead air.  What is their purpose in calling and not saying anything to a live person who answers the phone???

    DNC

    THAT MEANS DO NOW CALL

Ever since we joined that we have gotten these calls and more.

Never should have gotten on the DNC list

    It is worthless and more

Many of our friends didn't join and are not bothered

We don't answer calls if we don't know who they are but they keep calling.

If we block a number they call from another. Just like the last number changes or something everything else is the sam.

Called about a home security system. When they answered, I asked what company they were with and they hung up. SCAM SCUM. Your mother must be so proud.

More likely the FBI will come looking for the person who mobilizes the FBI terrorist task force to track down a telemarketer.

Comcast really should add more than 12 numbers we can block. Like 12 is great, but my cell phone can block unlimited numbers will the Call Control App.
