I am just anothe victim of this stupid and ugly spam call. They call many many times with automatic voice message asking for a person that I have never known or seen!! It is so annoying!

I got a call from them today again. The last time they asked for Bob too. Today I didn't pick up because it is a strange unknown number. They left message, hence I looked up the number and realized it is a collector call. I am new to my phone number, so I expect lots of strange call. Iwould suggest to google up strange incoming number before pick up or return call. It would be lots safer!!

Give me a break.  I am not the deadbeat they are looking for.  I do not know or have even heard of the deadbeat they are looking for, still they keep calling me.  WHY?????

This company has been calling me for almost a year now.  They never have told me their name (I learned from this site)  They are stating that there is a credit card that I never paid from 2006 for $145.00 I have never had a MasterCard in my life so I know that I do not owe them the money.  I never receive a voicemail from them either.  I called them back today and a guy answered by saying "This is Ryan" and then proceeded to tell me that I owed the debt.  I told him that until I received documentation stating that I owed the money I would not send him any money.  He was extremely rude and told me fine I'll write it in your file you refuse to pay and hung up.  I called back again and spoke with another person, however as soon as he found out my name he put me on hold and transferred me back to Ryan.  Ryan was again combative with me told me that it was too late to request paperwork and it would prove nothing I just had to pay the money.  I told him that I was advised by my attorney to not pay anything unless I had written documentation and I would not give my credit card over the phone.  He insisted on knowing my attorney's name and I refused to disclose the information. He then told me I was a liar and didn't even have an attorney. He stated that they have been sending statements for a year now, I've never received anything.....The postal service does not lose that much mail!  He said that he would send the information again and told me that I need to take care of this because I'm ruining my life.  Until I receive any documentation I refuse to give them any information.

I just now got the first call from these people, and I didn't recognize the number. This is a new number for me, and there are at least 3 other people who have had it before I got it. Since it's usually an acquaintance of one of the previous owners, I answer it and tell them the person no longer uses the number. These guys tried to collect on me, even though the debtor is male. I'm female, and my voice is unambiguously feminine.

I thought they might accuse me of being the debtor's girlfriend or something, but they thought that I actually WAS the debtor! I often wonder if collection agents are genuinely stupid people, or if they just turn their brains off while they're at work.

i get calls from them 6 times a week and they will not stop calling me...i just got a new phone from sprint and they harrass me ..once came from a lawyer..now coming from this collection agenecy...they hang up on me when i ask questions

They just started calling.  previously I received calls from PRC Portfolio Recoveries Co, always a "skip-trace" on a person (a female) who is not me.

This looks to be a form of "War Dialing" (coined from the movie "War Games").
We have received calls for multiple persons (names) from multiple collection company's at our number.
We have an unlisted/unpublished number and are on the national do not call registry.
As we do not have exact numbers (persons, company, etc) I could only do a rough estimate of the odds of receiving these calls. The ratio is similar to those found on a lottery ticket, I mean this literally.
This means there is an unseen factor in receiving the calls, leading to the theory of "War Dialing" an area code or prefix in search of "hits" for the person they are looking for.
Then consider if multiple collections companies were to coordinate their efforts (it would be to their advantage) of dialing and "hits".

These people have bought your old unpaid debt for pennies on the dollar. Let them take you to court. They can't prove you owe the debt & they can't prove they own your original account.
Fight them! You have rights!

I have caller ID on my TV called today did not leave a message it was a 800-280-1565 have no idea what they want,good luck calling,no answer from me! Ric

been getting calls for years for a Don Gibson. I know a person by that name who lives in the area and he may have had my phone # before I moved down here 10 years ago.. I have given them his number and they still call here.. I did call them back and said I wanted to talk to a supervisor and they got real upset and I never did get to talk to one..I will be going to Mn in july as I used to live there and will talk with Dakota County Prosecuter (Jim Backstrom) about this situation and get something done if I can.
