I got one too.......is it a gimmick?

Got a letter saying I will receive an Android Touchpad Table Computer from gifting department at no charge as well as a complimentary $100 Restaurant Card.

Had to call that number and reference an RSVP gift code printed at the bottom of the letter within 7 days.

Came addressed to me in an envelope signed as Marc Nadeau of Direct Buy Broward County.

Not calling.

Got letter offering Android. + $100. Gift card.stating they have been calling and the letter is final notification! Of course not going to call.... And to top it off I'm strictly an APPLE geek!

It doesn't seem that anything "can" really be done about these scams since it probably costs the agency responsible for doing so a ton of man-hours which translates into big $$$.  One thing I noticed in reading some of the posts on this and other forums is that these are "high pressure" sales.  FOLKS!...There's NO such thing as high pressure sales.  It's really simple, personally I try to be polite when I refuse but if it comes down to it you have 2 options: 1) Just hang up. 2) if you're in person then turn and walk out.  Empower yourself and don't feel bad for doing so

Received a letter from DirectBuy saying that my husband won an Android Touchpad Tablet computer, no charge! And call 954-449-9208, will include a $100 card in discounted dining! Really?! Do they think we are stupid? I am really upset with this scams and calling the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General tomorrow to report this! All of you guys should do the same.

TOTAL PHISHING SCAM......DirectBuy of Broward County lists it's phone as 954-634-8221 in yellowpages and internet. The address 6545 Nova Drive, Suite 200, Davie Fl, 33317, is the address listed as DirectBuy, but the number that the letter instructs you to call urgently, 954-449-9208 is a VOIP transfer connection that is not registered.
If you call the number in the letter, even out of curiousity, at the very least, even if no one answer's, you will have provided these folks with a trace number to continue trying to scam you. If you speak or are instructed to enter ANY information, and you comply......it will be a huge mistake.
