- BrittanyI'm from Indiana as well and keep getting this call. I almost wonder if it has to do with the target breech? They sent an email saying it included names and phone numbers as well as card info. Anyone else going thru the target breech?
- AnnoyedomousReceived a call from this number and I did not answer it because it was a suspicious/wierd looking number. No voice mail/message was left. Entered number into several reverse call search engines--states that it is a invalid number. The person calling was most likely using the SPOOF feature. What the spoof feature does is, you can make any number you want appear on caller ID along with changing your voice. So its a fake number. The goal of spoofing is to fool people into picking up the phone, as well as to get around the federal government's Do Not Call list. It also can be used to dupe people into sharing personal information. The internet is full of websites offering spoofing technology, a service that allows a caller to display someone else’s number on the caller ID. Its used by crooks who steal YOUR phone number (and personal info if you give it out) and use it to harass others. Many of the spoofers originate from outside the United States. “The Truth in Caller ID Act” makes it illegal for someone to spoof, but unfortunately there's not a lot the average person can do about it. Under the terms of the Caller ID Act spoofing is illegal only when it's done "with the intent to defraud, cause harm or wrongfully obtain anything of value." So some spoofing isn't necessarily illegal and it's not against the law to engage in what courts have called "non-harmful spoofing." Examples of non-harmful spoofing include a domestic-violence victim trying to hide her whereabouts or a consumer withholding his or her call-back number from a company. Another is when doctors responding to after-hours messages from their patients or other medical providers that may want to use their cell phones to return the calls, but choose to transmit their office number rather than their cellphone number as the calling number. Sooo,,,stealing someone's phone number, or misrepresenting yourself with a fake number, apparently is not seen as an act of fraud under the law. Go figure. But this loophole, no matter how well-intended, has been embraced by businesses as a way to "non-harmfully" get through a household's phone defenses. So caller ID is not a foolproof weapon against telemarketers and other unwanted phone visitors.
Tips: you can block calls from the wierd number, change your number if things get bad enough, or put the number in your address book as a spoofer/telemarketer and when they call do not answer. If someone really wanted to talk to you they would leave a message. Of of course you file a a complaint with the Federal Communications but good luck with this. Another good piece of caution, give your phone number out to as few people as possible and don't answer wierd lookng numbers. - veronicai already received one too.

- wasn'tbornlastnightJust received a call from this number, but it began with a + sign. My husband & I received a call from a different number last week on each of our cell phones. I didn't answer mine, but my husband did. It was the security system scam. I blocked the number from both phones. Then today received the call from this number, but only on my cell this time. I came to this site to check it & sure enough it's the same scam. I really just want to tell these morons to get off their backsides, get a real job, & quit trying to steal people's hard earned money!!

Don't want these calls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - RodneyI dialed the number back got a recording from Verizon Wireless stating number has been switched or no longer in service.
- Mary SmithLately I received calls from this number too. Any number not in my phone directory, I don't answer. If it is a legitimate call, I figure the caller will leave a message. They did not leave a voice mail. Very fishy.
- CrystalHere in Texas.
They called me twice, both are middle eastern people. The first time, he was stating I was a winner and went through some script. I asked how he got my number and what company does he represent. He went through the script again, word for word (it wasn't short). I said to call back some other time, I'm busy.
They called again today. I started to say "Take this number off your list, I'm not interested." But when I got to the word "your", they hung up on me. I hope they keep the same number, I'm programming it into my phone so I can ignore these calls in the future. - AntonioCaller info for 956-111-2345 says BURMA
