- davidI was called at 9:30 am April 24. Caller had accent and told me my computer contacted them and they were Micrsoft technicians. My computer has major virus's and it will shut down at any time. They said if they find any problems it would only cost me at first 185.00. The second amount was 177.00. I did not have to pay them if I was not satisfied. I asked them for a nuber to call Microsoft but they talked right by it and never gave me an answer. They also said if I did not have this done right now don't bother calling Microsoft as they won't help me because I refused the service now.
- Caller: claimed to be Microsoft
- ToddThey spoof the number through caller ID. They aren't in Michigan and the number on caller ID doesn't work. "Disconnected".

- Caller: Unknown Scammer
- swCaller claiming to be from an independent company based in India, working for Microsoft who had detected virus on my windows machine. Asked me to switch on my windows machine. Immediately suspicious. I ask which windows machine - response the one running windows! Then states if they are connected to the same router any machine will do.
Am told to hit "windows key" R.
I asked what this was going to run.
He told me to just do it.
I said I needed to know what this was going to do before I did anything.
Phone hung up.
(note this would bring up the run screen and presumably I'd be told to run something malicious) - SuzanneI received a call from Indian/English speaking woman last night 5/26/14 at 12:00 midnight. She told me my computer was about to crash and I told her I did not care I did fine without a computer before I got one. This woman would not quit. I told her she should not be calling people this time of the night and she said she knew that but my computer was going to crash. I hung up and called Do Not Call list however that does not always work either!!!
- frustrated in azJust received the same phone call everyone else did. 7:00 in the morning! How stupid do these people think we are? Unsettling, nonetheless.
- Another in AZThis is absolutely a scam folks however if you have the time and are bored, have fun!! When they are spending more resources stuck on calls where we string them along, they are not able to get to people who don't know any better!!
- BouddiceaWaste their time. I tell them to hold on for a minute and walk away from the phone. Microsoft doesn't call customers - they don't care.
- MickMy wife answered the call and when they started talking about how our "Windows Computer" had a problem she handed the phone to me. The caller said, with a heavy Indian accent, that his name was John, that he was with Microsoft Technical Support, and that I had a problem with my "Windows Computer". I said "which computer?"...and again he said "your Windows computer". I said that I had several Windows computers and that as I have worked for Microsoft for quite a few years...whereupon he immediately hung up the phone! :-)
Now I need to see if there's someone I can contact within the company to follow up on these bozos! - IT guyJust called my wife, w/ the Tech claiming to be MS to get her computer shutdown (due to virus spamming).
- Caller: Claimed to be Microsoft
- StevenThe people that call from this number are crooks! DO NOT TALK TO THEM! They contacted me today stating that they were from Microsoft Security and contacting me about a hacker attempting to gain access to my computer. I did not believe them at first but then they starting in on things that made them sound legit. They convinced me to let them remotely on my system, I know what a DF move, they then installed a Trojan on my computer and wanted me to pay them $200 to remove it and let them monitor my system. I figured it out at this time and spent the last several hours cleaning my system!
- Caller: They State the are Microsoft Security
- N. Cook3 calls from 989-641-6022 saying they are with technical support for windows. Heavy Indian accented people, lots of background noise. I'm not stupid and have blocked the numbers
