Can anyone tell me if a certain type of exchange numbers are used to hide the actual caller and location?  In Ohio I have noticed a 216- with any five hundred three number sequence.  No messages left on any of these sequences.  In one week I received four different sequences.  Does anyone else see something familiar with other exchanges?  Thank you.

Fairly silly question. Both area codes and prefixes are spoofed starting with 000 and they go all the way to 999. Take your pick on which one they intend to use next. Then there is neighbor spoofing where they mimic your area code and prefix to make you think that the call is local. Then we have where they spoof actual business numbers to make you think that a real business of government entity is calling. And the list goes on and on.

I have been getting a lot of these neighborhood spoofs (I suspect) and similar number pattern calls. I don't answer them. Often I look them up in here but don't find results often times. I really don't want to answer the numbers to "find out what happens" only to unleash a new flood of spammers that realize "oh, she answers her number" I got a lot of 216 calls at one point and now I am getting calls from 614-585 every day. They NeVer leave messages. One number, 6143625570 called 5 times and I did answer only because I thought a friend might have been in trouble and was calling from an alternate phone. Unfortunately, it was another kind of call I have been getting for years it is for the wrong person Jackie Stevens and they are always trying to buy her property and no matter how much I send to do not call, tell them they have the wrong number and tell them to stop calling (from nicely to practically mad by the end of it) they don't stop calling. Most are all diferent numbers, except that one and needless to say I blocked it.  Others are all different numbers. I have a feeling it is either someone like that calling lately, or a scam of some sort but if they think they can call from all these different numbers and not leave messages regardless of the fact my voicemail says they should or they won't get a call back if they're not in my contacts, they are mistaken I won't answer. The numbers lately have all started with 614-585 and have the following last 4's, 8216, 8736, 8252, 8257, 8220, 8108 and so on. I am considering getting Nomo robo or one of the other blockers or something or changing my number. Has anyone gotten any of these 614-585 calls? They seem to have been the most persistent of any pattern I have seen thus far besides the Olivia Apple scam from a few years ago.
