- Harry BoothI had a missed call from this number with a message from Alan from Apollo claiming he was getting in touch with me in regards to my CV. I had a look online and couldn't find many reviews.
I called him back a couple of hours later but he wasn't available, I spoke to another member of his team who was extremely helpful. They advised me a regional director had seen my details and was looking to meet me to see how they can assist in my job search. I explained I wasn't particularly flexible but they endeavoured to fit their schedule around me and arranged a convenient meeting in their Birmingham office. The meeting itself was extremely helpful, they talked me through my CV and seemed very interested in where I would like to take my career. I gained a lot of useful information and I am going back for a second meeting later on this week.
It all seems very positive, I thought I would put this review in case anyone else is looking up the number. I am finding the process extremely worthwhile.- Caller: Apollo
- TrevorThanks Harry. I got a call this morning from them. I was debating if it was worth ringing them back, I will give them a call now.
- Daniel Kean| 3 repliesGlad to hear all of this, I've just called them back now and booked in a meeting at their Leeds office with Chris. It does all sound really promising.
They are a Human Resource company and offer a quite a few services so I am hoping they will be able to help me. Well worth a chat if they do ring you. Form your own opinions but to me it sounds good so far.- Caller: Apollo
- Bill G replies to Daniel Kean| 2 repliesInteresting...I have recently been to see Richard Wozniack in the Nottingham offices - all sounds very impressive but I am worried about the lack of positive references. £3k is a lot of money to pass over to anyone on 'the hope' of securing a job. I am pondering what to do next. If anyone has a positive experience in finding a job with their help would be interesting to hear.
- Al replies to Bill G| 1 replyI received an email from Alan at Apollo last week saying my CV has attracted the attention of one of their senior consultants and how they would like to meet with me. It seemed like a sales pitch so I deleted it. I just received a call from a lady at Apollo saying pretty much the same and I agreed to meet with them in London tomorrow.
Something did not feel right so I did some checks. I found that the 'consultant' I am supposed to meet with used to work for a company called PCS - also based in Leeds. PCS is similarly a 'career management' company, taking money to find a role. The consultant in question is also listed on LinkedIn as a 'Regional Director' - we must all be very lucky to have personal meetings with regional directors.
This may be a valid, worthwhile organisation but I'm in the market for a contract job and I know that the contract job market does not work like this. It sounds and feels wrong to me so I will be declining the meeting. - Al replies to AlThis is the thread on PCS...... has scam written all over it. For PCS read Apollo. Will be interested to hear if anyone has success with them
https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/01132523070/2 - TimA friend just made me aware of this thread after receiving a call from Apollo.
I can 100% vouch that this is not a scam! It's evident that the only news people spread is bad news. Well, not me. I took up a programme with them after meetings in their Birmingham office because I felt like what they were offering me was exactly what I needed. I had worked for 10 years in the same company and was a bit stuck when it came to a new challenge.
The whole team are friendly and work hard to get you exactly where you WANT to go. Within 6 months of working with them along side my full time job, I had secured my new role. Apollo had sent me some of their contacts within the company I am now employed with who had nothing but positive views on Apollo as one of the directors there before had been through a programme.
If you are considering visiting them, do it! You receive a few hours of the Directors time for nothing! You never know, this might be all you need to get the ball rolling but some of us needed more help and are more than happy with the results. - BrianYes they are PCS, yes they are a scam. Yes they do steal your data from your CVs on jobs boards. Yes they do charge you thousands of pounds to not get you a job.

- Jon BradburnI have received numerous missed calls and texts from this number and their company. After doing a bit of research on the wibbly wobbly web, I discovered that this bunch of parasites would charge me £3,000 for doing nothing. Scum like this should be closed down, I note from their website that they are particularly keen to fleece ex-service people. Nice.

- AlanHi, I made an appointment today, but just canceled it. Thank you to everyone who posted and saved me a trip to reading. I don't thinks it's right to do this as I am unemployed and working hard to find a job. This may also be of help: http://dataprotector.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/t ... -effect-of.html

- Wasted an hour of my life!I had the calls and mails from Alex Smith to start with and then Sam Wright. They certainly paint a picture of having roles available, and clearly they show roles on their website.......I eventually went along to an initial meeting.
No mention of up front costs on the call, and not even rough figure given at the meeting, guess its how much they think they can get out of each candidate.
The reg office at companies house also seems different to the one on their website.- Caller: Apollo
