Just got call from this number.  It rang once and stopped.  didn't callback as you never know what kind of rate you would be charged.

This number rang and when I answered, after two rings, they rang off. Didn't ring it back as I guess it would prove to be an expensive mistake!!

Indian call centre who asked for previous house owner by name. When I said that he had not lived there for 3 years they hung up

Just had a call with the CLID of "06468451863" on my landline. Soon as I picked it up they hung up. Must be a auto dialer... :(

Got a call from 06468451863 and as soon as i answered the call,they hung up.

This Indian call centre called me on 12th March 2010 using the faked UK CLI of 0646 0451863.

I answered the phone and the Indian call centre worker said he was calling from the Lifestyle Research Centre.  I have been called by an Indian call centre calling itself "The Lifestyle Research Centre" before a few months ago and after I challenged them on having my number and why they had called me they then hung up but still sold my data to three foot in the door burglar alarm sales companies (as in they call you and then want to come round to your home in 20 minutes time to try to get you to sign up there and then to a contract for a burglar alarm system costing thousands in maintenance fees) who also all then rang me despite my TPS registration.

On this occasion I demanded to know why they were using a faked UK CLI of a number range (06) that does not exist and why they were calling despite my TPS registration.  I demanded several times to speak to the guy's supervisor but eventually he hung up on me.

I believe this Indian call centre outfit previously operated as "The Consumer Research Centre" as the ludicrous story that were doing a work for a large number of major UK companies and charities was exactly the same when that outfit also called me in the past..

Why is OFCoN so utterly useless that it is not yet impossible to fake UK CLIs when calling from overseas and why would I have to pay an extra rental charge for a service like Anonymous Call Rejection or Choose To Refuse to stop these callers ringing my line!

Phone rang from this number at 9pm, didn't pick it up in time. They rang for several rings, not sure if they hung up as my husband answered.

They have been harassing me on a daily, sometimes several times daily basis, asking to speak to some asian sounding name. I have told them that this person doesn't live here, i've asked them to take me off their list and begged them to stop calling as my dad was terminally ill ans past away 2 weeks ago. They just continue to call.....seriously considering throwing my phone out of the window!!!!

I had a call today with Number Unavailable shown from a male Indian call centre worker who asked for me by name and then said he was doing a "UK State of The Nation Survey" and would I mind answering a few questions.  I said what were the questions about and he wouldn't tell me.  Then when I said I might consider answering them he said was I agreeable to being called back by their marketing partners about any service that I said I was interested in.  I said I was not.  

When I asked where he was calling from he said London but when I then said that no one from his country who had spent any time in the UK had the metallic Indian accent he did or used the odd expressions he did (which are normal colloquial Indian English as spoken between Indians but not how even Indians who live here and have any experience of working here speak it) he then gave up the pretence that he was in London at all. At this point I demanded to speak to his supervisor and he cut me off.

From the whole style of the call and the attempt to say they were representing numerous different UK companies I am sure this is precisely the same Indian call centre outfit that also goes by the name of Consumer Research Centre and Lifestyle Research Centre.  But presumably due to the mountain of complaints now building up against them they have changed names again and found a way to withhold CLI to avoid any danger of the normally highly complacent and incompetent TPS and ICO being prepared to take action against them.

If you can't provide a phone number or address the TPS Complaint website and ICO helpline always maintains there is nothing they can do about the company.

Can these jokers really not afford to have their phone number compared with the TPS so that they only call willing victims.  Surely with even half the UK's phone lines registered for TPS there are still enough lines to call and most of these people are likely to far more readily go along with the scam (given that they have still not registered with the TPS despite all the active promotion of it over the last few years).

I am sick to death of the constant phonecalls 2 or 3 a day for the past 3 weeks that I have received from these people.  Every time I say that I'm not interested and put the phone straight down but they keep on calling.

Just got a call from a "Lifestyle Research Centre"

They said they were a registered company, but when I pressed them on it they couldn't give me any relevant details.

I managed to get through to the supervisor "Amy Fox" - an American Lady, having previously spoken to an Indian subordinate. I ended up berrating her for ages, specifically asking why they were calling despite my TPS registration. Really got annoyed and ended up swearing down the phone and hanging up. (Can I get in trouble over that?)

I wasn't really informed and ended making stuff up, but she bought it and was certainly getting flustered. If I'm going to be cold-called I want to at least vent!

I received a call from this number this afternoon, they said they were calling from the Lifestyle Research Centre and wanted to ask me a few questions, the part that concerns me is that they knew my name. I never give my home number out and I'm registered with the TPS so how they got both my name and number worries me. I just told them I was registered with the TPS and will not respond to any type of call of this manner. The lady then said nothing so I said 'thankyou goodbye' and hung-up. Max if you've ended up losing your temper I'd say don't worry about it. That's how most people respond to these calls after having their personal details used and passed on. You weren't expecting the call, it'll only be to further their benefit and you're registered with the TPS. I will certainly be making a complaint to the TPS http://complaints.tpsonline.org.uk/Consumer/

Got a call from 06468451863 - 18:26 on Thursday 24th June 2010. Answered in error (I was expecting another call at that moment), I ended up speaking to an Indian-sounding male who asked if he was speaking to [my surname]. Alarm bells went off when I heard the accent, that question and the caller ID (06- ?!) - and that he'd almost got my name correct, but not quite. I asked who was calling (I didn't say 'yes, it is') - someone from the "Lifestyle Research Centre", wanting to ask some marketing questions. Due to the accent I asked if he could repeat that, at which point he said goodbye and hung up (it took a couple of seconds for me to decipher what he said, by which time he'd gone). Interestingly, the online BT codes lists 06468 as 'Reserved For Future Use'.

Now today (11:24 Saturday 3rd July 2010) while out I received a missed call from 041213142203. Didn't wait long enough to leave a message on the answering machine. I've not had an 04 number before and guess what, 04121 is  'Reserved For Future Use'. Since previous posters are now identifying different numbers from the company (see same thread), I suspect this may be from the "Lifestyle Research Centre" again (but not 100% sure).

Additionally, over the past few months now (mostly since the start of 2010), my caller display has been giving numerous 'international call', 'unknown' and 'unavailable' - I don't answer any of them, only 20% wait long enough for the answer-phone to kick in, which either results in them hanging up or a period of silence and then a hang-up.

(Do a search on 'Lifestyle Research Centre' - plenty of negative comments about them on the net!!).

My husband was told to go f@@@ himself by one of these people when he asked them what they were calling for.  Nice.

It's time something was done about these scam calls from abroad.  i signed up to TPS years ago and the only UK calls I get now are from companies I'm rewgistered with.
I have more to do with my time than answer calls to pig ignorant people who hang up as soon as you ask them what they want.
