- leonai keep getting calls atleast once or twice a day from same number. i have answered. only to find them wanting personal information from the start of call without telling me who they are. i believe they are hsbc.
These people are not friendly and not easy to understand. i think if hsbc wish to use a call centre further a field then they must train people right.
i have emailed hsbc complaints several times but with no reply. - StuartI had calls from this number 4 or 5 times a day in November and December, Claiming they where from HSBC when i asked my business manager about it he did not know why they where phoning me, HSBC agread to take my number of there systems and stop calling me like this when i sent them a bill and solisitors letter as my phone is usually on divert to my mobile and it costs me every time they call.
- Caller: HSBC
- aurielI keep getting calls from this number and every time i pick up they hang up
- -It is definately a scam to verfify your name and phone number, and that you are with HSBC. If by any chance you are with HSBC hang up and call them directly to verify.
- HiltonI had this number ring me and i didn't believe them to be HSBC i called the bank on the number on the back of card and they said that there was no record of a call being made to me!!!!!! I wont communicate on this number and have it listed as "scam" !!!!!!!
The second call i got rang back hsbc and they said there was one call listed but couldn't tel;l me what department , however if it was credit department it would have been closed over an hr before had!!!!
very suspect!!!!!- Caller: samming [***]!!
- ElaineI also have been receiving up to 5 calls a day for last two weeks sometimes they dont answer sometimes they want all my info .I looked on line yesterday to see if I could trace the number and see if it was HSBC and was amazed at how many other people are also having this problem.I called the HSBC and explained all this they after quite a while put me through to the collections dept and a Indian voice told me I had been over my overdraft by £18 on the 31st dec and had I paid this in yet .To say I was gobsmacked would be a understatemant bearing in mind my wages had gone in on the 2nd jan and other money has gone in also when I questioned this she told me oh yes I can see that now, it takes time for our system to catch up .I did loose it a bit and down the phone shouted [***] if I can use phone banking and get all my info why cant they I am placing a formal complaint and will be changing bank
- Caller: HSBC
- dihad a call from this number today, didnt answer it though cos my practise is not to answer unknown calls, but to check them up before calling me back, plus if they really needed me, they would call me back....thanks for this website, now that i know this number is a nuisance one, so i wont be calling back.....btw i am a hsbc customer...
- CazI've had this number ring me on so many occassions, I have a HSBC account and not to sound funny but I dont like dealing with someone I can hardly understand plus they dont understand my situation. Im gunna go into my branch and try sorting it out once and for all so these stupid calls stop!!!
- Caller: apparently HSBC!!!
- MAJust got a phonecall at work from this number - they wanted me to confirm my date of birth -they stated the date correctly and they were expecting me to tell them the month and the year - I refused to do so and asked why they needed it, and they either hang up or the line got cut off.
- robdogJust been phoned on my mobile from 08007838422.I answered the phone and there was a long silence then the phone switched from them ringing me to me ringing them. They then answered the phone and I said Hello 4 or 4 times and received no reply so I hung up.I believe its HSBC but I cannot find this number on their website.Im always reluctant to give personal details over the phone
- LizzyI am sick of getting missed calls from this number, sometimes 16 times a day. If the call is genuine or real why dont they leave a message??????? And say what number to call them back on???? Is it a scam?? Is it the bank????? If is bank why cant they contact by email or post?
- Caller: ??
- PAULSomeone called me from this number today claiming to be HSBC Business Centre when I challenged him to prove who he was he seemed surprised and was unable to do so.
If this was HSBC it doesn't surprise me that they can't comprehend someone trying to protect their identity.- Caller: HSBC
- LuluSomeone called me from this number just after my Marks and Spencer &more credit card had been declined for a payment online. The caller was checking that it actually was me who was trying to use the card. I was very happy to realise that they were taking my security seriously. I have actually telephoned Marks and Spencer Money customer care and they have confirmed that this was a legitimate call.
- MikeLost count how many times I get calls from this number, I swore at them once and it stopped the calls for a month. Now they have started again. I am actively pursuing filing for harassment. 3 calls in one day is unacceptable, especially as i had already spoken to them 3 times.
- Caller: HSBC
- KIM SAS ABOVE!
- BronwynI missed a call on my mobile, the message left stated my full name and asked me to call them back on a different number which I could not make out all of it, the guy was speaking really fast with an accent and there was a lot of background noise. It wasn't the general number. I rang HSBC (the number on the back of the card) and after much transferring, they could find no record of a call to me. The woman said if they ever call they will request you to ring back on the general number so you can be confident that it's legit.
- Caller: HSBC
- MHHave been called frequently over the past week by this number (6-8 times a day) and if I don't answer, they don't leave a message. If I do answer it is just silence. Getting really fed up with this now
- Roger of IpswichThis number has started calling me - leaving no messages on my ansaphone. 7 so far today. What can I do!!!
- Caller: HSBC apparently
- CJust got a call from this number and they asked for my postcode. I didnt give it to them and asked if it was a courtesy call.. and they said yes. I said im not interested and hung up.
Now, I've just called HSBC fraud dept and they said that that is one of their call centres that tried to contact me about a mortgage. I asked them to please remove me from the telemarketing list and they did... I'll let you know if I get anymore calls. - BonesI've had a lot of calls from this number so far this week, no idea who it is as I've never been in to take the call on the landline, and been busy when that number calls my mobile. I assume from all the posts above that it is a legitimate HSBC call centre, but since my contact preferences with that bank only include email and post, I would (on principle) not discuss any business with them on the phone anyway - well, unless I called them of course.
