    Concerned about fraud
A call from Countrywide - Let return number as 1015158000 ext. 8574.  Said something about charging 5.49/min.  Would be billed as a directory assistance.

On 10/6/2008, I called a 1-800 number about a GE warranty and was referred to "10-15-15-8000" (101-515-8000).  AT&T is now billing me for the $7.14 call.

Funny, when I got the bill on 11/7/2008, I tried calling the 1-800 number and this time was connected directly to GE.  I smell a scam!

they slammed our phone bill at work and when I called the 800 # to have the service cancelled I got a message that said to call 10-15-15-8000.  I have not called it and AT&T have been more than helpful with this problem.  You can always call the Public Service Commission and report them, for what good it will do.

I called Aerocomm to fix my satellite receiver box.  I used the 877 number they had provided for us to call them.  When I called the number, the message said to call 10 15 15 8000 and the that I would get a $5.95 charge for that directory assistance.  I don't want to call the number since it appears to be a fraud, but now I don't know who to call to fix my satellite!

    I called Microsoft's Order desk at (800) 933-4751 and received the 10 15 15 8000 number and there would be a $5.95 charge.  I didn't call it.  But apparently Microsoft isn't immune.

I spotted a charge from ILD Teleservices on our AT&T business phone bill. It was $7.62 for directory assistance using the 101-515-8000 number. I called the 800 number listed on the bill for ILD to find out who they were and what we paid for. The result of the call is that they said they will mail us a refund and block that number for us. We shall see...  I thought it seemed odd, so I did an internet search - wow!

Today, I made a Bank of America customer service call to  number 1-800-789-6685 and was given the number 1015158000 to call National Directory Assistance. I did try this given number and there is a female message that says a charge will be billed to my ATT phone bill. I immediately hung up and later on I used another BOFA customer service number and succeeded reaching the Bank. I reported the suspicion, but the bank refuse to look into the matter. I still don't know if they will charge me or not. How could the government let this happens to us???

My elderly mother has received several recorded messages to her home phone (which is also on the do not call list) telling her to call 877-769-7442 to settle a bill. When I called the number to find out what this was all about the recorded message said to call 101515-8000, which I did not call. They did say very quickly prior to giving the 101515 number that the call would be charged 5.49. Obviously some sort of phone scam, I have reported it to the National do not call listing.

Just tried to call Dell's 800 customer order line and got this message.  Didn't understand it so double checked the 800# for Dell and called again.  Got same message.  I did not call the 10 15158000 # so hopefully, will not have any charges.

When I called the number on a credit card said the number was changed to 1015158000 and for a small fee I could activate my ATM card.   I called the number and when there was no connection to Bank of America, I hung up.  I tried 3 times to make sure I had not misdialed. The next day I took the card to the Bank.  When the number on the card was caled from the bank they got the real activation number.

My sister called Food Stamps to find out how to replace her lost card - and was given this number 10-15-15-8000 to get the number of the company in Las Vegas.... for a charge of $4.95.  Can you believe it - a government agency giving out this apparently fraudulent number?
