this number keeps calling nightly but will not leave message.  i will not answer if i do not know who it is but wish i knew how to stop the nightly calls!!!

just got a call from 519-645-7829, picked up (just bec. I was curious what whacko is calling at 8pm when people are having a quiet time at home.  I did not say anything and waited. A woman started "helloho!?" So I said hello too. Then she started yapping: I am calling in behalf of BC Hydro, blablabla, it's about a survey for BC Hydro, it takes only about 10 minutes. I said: I don't have 10 minutes, it is 8 pm and I don't want to be bothered by telemarketers. And she kept going...but it takes only 10 minutes blablbabla.... I said again that I don't want to be bothered by telemarketers, I don't know who she is, I can't see a name on the display, just a phone number AND I DONT WANT TO BE BOTHERED by strangers they don't want to reveal their identity on the display. Again: but I am phoning from (I think she said TLS or TLF) for BC Hydro about a survey and it takes only 10 minutes...

I think these telemarketer companies hire only people they have kind of a disorder called "I can't understand the word NOOOOOOO"

Don't these companies learn ANYTHING from getting sworn at, ignored, yelled at, etc.? I for my part don't pick up 99% of calls when I don't know the number or it is a weird area code without showing a name. That's why call display was invented and most people like screening their calls

This number calling me every day even if no answer,. Finally PICKED HER CALL 9 PM, I BEGGED HER that WE ARE BUSY havng dinner /party BUT THIS SHAMELESS Female insisted talking even if you say NOT INTERESTED in her SURVEY. OHHHHH MY GOD!!! Where are RULEZ? ANY LAWS 4 them??????

Called several times last night around 8:00 - 9:00pm..probably hydro "survey" I didn't answer...screw-em!

BC Hydro?!... from Ontario?!?, no way!

Today I asked for our number to removed from the list and they guy basically laughed at me. I told him he had a legal obligation to remove my name or tell me how to remove my name. He laughed at me and told me he'd take care of it. yah, right. I asked for his name and then I called the number back. It gave me a voice message and on it was an option to press 1 to remove your number. I did, we'll see....

Call them back from the number they called you at...listen to the message...don't say anything...then press "1" to be removed from their list.

If they call you again after five days...report them to the CRTC and call your MLA to inform them that you are receiving unwanted nuisance calls...and they will not remove your number thus violating the law.

They called again on Oct 18th around 7:00pm...that's it...off to the CRTC go their names....I went through their prompts and had my number supposedly removed...it didn't happen...complaint is going to be filed. (AGAIN)

Now the number is apparently out of service...and their website: www.kantar.com is not functioning...because it looks like they've changed their registration to a new domain:

So we're dealing with your typical multi-headed/multi-national consulting/marketing/surveying monster...best thing to do is subscribe all their contact email addresses to every religious/nazi/porn web-site/blog/mailing list you can think of...and get some payback.

Or call their execs directly in the middle of the night on their cells or home phones...might get the message through...

Advice for WPP/Kantar: be careful who you are calling and annoying and not removing from your call lists...they might be a disgruntled hacker/government investigator/cyber-crime investigator...who knows?

It's a marketing research company (a survey). I called back, listened to the message and at the end there is an option to have your number removed from the list, Which i did.

Mastercard survey at grocery store free bag, cookies and $5. COUPON for doing survey DON"T SHOW  anyone your drivers licence wife fell for it now I'm always running to the phone .Put them on call block (new phone feature)

This number has called numerous times during the past few weeks. We leave unknown numbers for our answering machine, but sometimes pick up repeat callers to tell them to stop.

I answered one call about a week ago -this caller asked me to take part in a survey about communication and leisure time. I explained I was on my leisure time and did not want to communicate with them. I asked them to take me off their list and stop calling. He said that was impossible, that the numbers were randomly generated.

The calls from this number continued, and I answered the third time they called tonight. I asked them to put me on their do not call list. I told them I was going to report them to the CRTC, they said telemarketing rules did not apply to them, they are not selling anything.

I checked the CRTC web site and see that market research and phone surveys are not bound by telemarketing rules. They are free to call whoever they want, they have no requirement to keep a list of numbers who do not want to be called.

They only way to stop this is to write your MP and complain to have the law changed to require all businesses who engage in unsolicited calling to maintain a do not call list.

You would think these businesses would do this just out of common sense.

I rec'd the call and contacted BC Hydro - and they claimed they knew nothing about the survey and that it sounded fishy by the out of province area code. If this survey company is misrepresenting themselves as calling on behalf of BC Hydro, then that in itself should be reason for the CRTC to take action.

These people are the most annoying relentless and will never get it when you say 'DO NOT CALL BACK TO THIS NUMBER & TAKE US OFF THE CALLING LIST' OMG really!  I am reporting this to Bell Canada & hopefully they can deal with them.  I'm not interested in your survey and they still don't understand!!  The more people that report this the better.
