More info regarding my previous message about a $9.10 charge that is a scamming operation. My credit card company told me that often, for longtime customers with a good record, for a small amount like $9.10, they will just go ahead and remove the charge rather than spend whatever it costs them to carry out an investigation which would surely be a lot more. It's too bad that these scammers get away with ripping credit card companies off this way. That's part of the reason they charge high interest rates for those that carry a balance from month to month.

This is a collection company called Hudson and Keyes. They will use tactics such as checking employment records. Also will call people with the same last name spelling as the person they are looking for, in hopes to snag a lead.

They keep calling me about someone that used to have my cell phone number but now it's mine and I don't know the guy they want and I don't owe them anything. How do I get this to stop, I am on the "Do Not Call List" and I have also told them I'm not this guy since I am a woman but they just keep calling.

My credit card was charged $9.10 this morning from the CENTER COMPANY 8888568228 FL.  I filed claim forms with my bank and cancelled my credit card this morning.   I also called the company twice and left messages.  There is only a recording and they don't even tell their company name on it.  I also reported their phone number to the do not call.

I live in WV and have no idea how they got my information. I never answer the phone at home, I have an answering machine.

I had an unauthorized debit charge on my bank account for $9.15 on 6/3/08 from this "CENTER COMPANY", and listed was a phone# 888-856-8228. Of course all I get is an answering machine and no answers. THIS IS A SCAM AND I RECOMMEND CANCELING ANY CREDIT CARD THAT THEY HAVE OBTAINED! OR THEY MAY DRAIN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT.

I got a call from this number today at 2:10 pm. The caller ID stated PCR and they asked for a darnell. Not sure who they are but I hope they don't keep calling!!

Cancelled Dish - Business account - now I am the bad guy

I did the same thing . They leave no message, I am an unlisted unpublished number yet these jerks get through - How are we suppose to ever combat it if the big comapnies keep breaking the rule or sell our information. I am ready to lobby against all the crap.

P.S-A family member sent a cease communication letter similar to the one above to two other thug collection agencies and their attorneys last year who were also harassing him about a debt that he didn't owe. They tucked their tails behind them and ran into the sunset. Send, send, SEND that letter today!

These people are relentless..no messages just beeping. This needs to be stopped.

I keep getting these messages to call 1 and the name on the message is not mine. I called Bell Canada and this is the number of their collection company. So I called the 1-800 and they took my phone number off of their list. Apparently that was the number they had for this person.

Called and asked for Julie or Judy Brenner. When I told the lady that she had the wrong number she got angry with me and continued to tell me that I was lying to her. Would not identify herself of where she was calling from or what she was calling for, besides Brenner. She continued to tell me that I she didn't understand because she had my number for Brenner in her computer and contined to get angry with me

I too had a $9 charge on my credit (not debit) card. The bank has cancelled my card and has to issue me another one. What a pain! Who ARE these people and is anyone doing anything about it? FL State Atty General's office should be told!

...nine beans and ten cents hurts, and not to mention the fact that my account has been jeopordized.  I wonder if Dick Cheney ever experiences such things?  So, here's to you really tricky and smart people with the knowledege of how to rip other people off through you're really really smart and original methods. Man, you're so freaking cool!!  I wish I could be as cool as you... I'll keep on pickin' up other peoples trash like it never happened, and perhaps Karma will work it all out.

They keep calling even though we tell them not to. They call every half hour and wont leave a message or anything.

The first call I received months ago - accusing me of having an outstanding auto loan - that call didn't come up on Caller ID. The second time, today, I got on Caller ID. She identified herself as Debt Recovery Services. Also accusing me of having an outstanding auto loan. I too, have excellent credit. Not to push a full credit check - but just in case & if it hasn't been done in a while, it is recommended to rule out someone stealing/selling your identity. Anyway..The key give-away in all of this ridicule.. I've never ever had an auto loan. So come on over, with your papers in hand. Because I'll never verify my SS# over the phone!

Had my Visa account charged $9.15 without my permission. Filed a credit card dispute form with my credit union. After reveiwing my CC statement the only place that I went to prior to the unauthorized charge that I lost sight of my card was TGIF resturant.  Could there be a connection. Waiter selling my card info??
