This comp. phoned me ,they do speak& know  everyting about me,name,address etc.
Said got my no from uk homes database?
Also said they were offering Government grants?
When I inform them I am TPS,& question them more they just hang up!
Just about to report to Talk Talk as keep getting these calls-sometime they are silent

I had this number call me, he refused to hang up the phone, saying he cannot hang up as he will get charged? i keep him on the phone over 12 minutes, in all that time he refused to tell me his name and what his business was calling me, only thing i can offer to help is that I am also a talk-talk customer, coincidence?

me to loads from this num asking for different names sometimes silent... be aware i was also tried to be scammed over the phone last week,no number left when i checked.... always asian accents and male..

An Asian male wanted to ask me some questions regarding a survey he was conducting to which i said no thank you. I asked who was calling, he gave a random persons name not a company name, he then said he wasn't trying to sell me anything, but may have companies phone me if i was interested in them :) I said no again, alas despite this he continued to prattle on until he realized he wasn't getting anywhere so then told ME to put the phone down..!! I did then stuck his number into my barred list on my phone.  
Scammer no doubt about it.
NEVER GIVE ANY INFO AT ALL......EVER, if you do expect a barrage of pests calling.

Good to see from this that I am not the only victim - well not good exactly. Ringing stops so I have no idea who is calling. Surely someone must know. I gather Talktalk not in the least helpful? has anyone anywhere received any assistance with this extreme nuisance? When there is a voice what is the scam?

had several calls from this number today, ignored them but then this evening I was  talking on the phone to a friend and this number was able to cut in to the conversation ? ? ? how can they do this ? ? ? TalkTalk not interested and they say it could not happen, whatever next .......

We keep getting calls from this and variations of this number, I have phone blocking on talktalk but everytie I block the umber we get a different variation. So far we have had;

In fact looking back at my call register, it would appear that the same numbers are even getting through my blocking service.

I have been receiving silent calls an average of six or seven a day for about six weeks. This morning I received a call from 0844 247 942 saying they were returning my enquiry about stopping nuisance calls.    (I have NOT made such an enquiry) This makes me very suspicious that this company is the one who is sending the call in an effort to promote business. They say they can stop 100% of all nuisance calls for an upfront one off fee of £35 which reinforces my suspicion they are the ones creating the nuisance calls. Being a pensioner on limited means I declined their sales pitch and will instead disconnect my land line and rely on a mobile phone

Silent calls are generated by companies using power or predictive dialling equipment when making outbound calls. A power/predictive dialler is an automated dialler which can store, access and automatically dial telephone numbers which should match operator availability. However some companies may not have set their dialling rate correctly and this means that individuals are receiving calls, where upon answering there is silence.

Registration with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) does not stop the receipt of silent calls. Please report receipt of silent calls to the Telecommunications Regulator, Ofcom, to enable them to look at trends in complaints being made and where possible identify those companies who are not complying with the regulations surrounding such calls. Like other reports, we get called all day but no-one is on the other end. We have had calls up to 21.40 at night. I am going to report it to local police but not sure what they can do.....

This 0010191059 scam has now reached me..  I'm with Virgin Media and recently asked them to change my telephone number because of so many irritating and disagreeable calls. This seemed to work at first, however I'm now plagued by these irritating morons.  What is their purpose? as they seem to have to pay for the call to obtain and achieve nothing in return other than to cause major annoyance and irritation to private people.

I'm ex-directory as I suppose so many people are now - how thick is the good old London Telephone Directory that used to be five volumes!

Yes, I've just filled in a complaint to OFCOM though doubtless it'll go nowhere other than for them to ring me back, waking me up, only to state there's nothing they can do to control this or stop  this annoyance.

I have today, filed and submitted a formal complaint  to OFCOM against telephone number 001091059 who have been initiating these annoying and obnoxious calls to so many private residents,  They have a legal duty under law to trace the perpetrators and apply the law and summons again these people!  Whether they will or not remains to be seen, but why should we have to put up with this annoying and disturbing nonsense night and day.

Perhaps all of you on this list who have complained or queried so far, will make the same representations as I have just done to OFCOM.  Strength in numbers if you've ever been in battleship warfare !

Well i got to talk to someone, its HOME SURVEY GROUP as they announce themselves when they bother to.

To get them to talk, stay silent lol.

Have also had the AMMYY.com scam with this caller presentation ID.

Registered with Silent Caa Guard Service (part of TPS) but still getting at least 2 or 3 calls a day. Now I've started getting getting calls from 0000000000 which are also silent.

This lot can call us 4/5 times a day and mostly do not speak. On one occassion they said they were working for a company linked to Windows technical team. Do not give them any information about yourselves. I have reported them to Ofcom.

I have been getting several calls every day from this number. I wish I could find out who it is as I am sooooooo fed up with it now. Surely there is a way to stop this as it's always when I am doing things and I have to stop!!

It started 1st Jan 2013, 7 calls a day starting at midday up until about 21:00 hrs, but today 4th Jan i got to speak to them after all the rest being silent and i can confirm they are the HOME SURVEY GROUP i informed them (Shaun) that i had reported them to Ofcom and TPS and asked for my details to be removed from there system, so here's hoping (but i think in vain).I would strongly advise anyone who has suffered due to these leeches to report them.

My nana and Granda are an elderly couple who keep getting calls from this number.  I took the call for them and told the man they are registered with the TPS, they are not but as soon as you mention the TPS they have to remove your number.  It is fact that call centers do ring TPS numbers, i no this as i have worked in many. Once you say you have recently registered with the TPS it is their job to apoligise and remove your number else as their company could get fined. The man i spoke to was very rude once i mentioned TPS he said BYE BYE and hung up. It is also a fact that call centres have a very high staff turnover so these people you speak to rarely have any experience, also alot of these calls are recorded so if any of you recieve abusive calls press 1471 speak to a manager and complain!!!! I only worked in call centres for a short time as they are a horrible manipulative environment to work in. WWhen people ring up to do surveys (marketing research) they ask questions in a tricky way and they do lie. They get all of your information then you are hounded with calls after trying to see you things they believe should be up dated. Alot of call centres change their names on a regular basis to make you thinkit is a different company calling when in fact it is the same company trying a different approach to get all of your details. Every survey these people complete gives them one more point closer to their target, There is soo much more to this than i have wrote but i hope this helps all of the people out there to get rid of these ignorant callers !!!!!!!!!

Always getting these nuisance phone calls. Caller never answers.  Worried it's some sort of scam; why would any one do it except to obtain money?
.It seems know one seems to be able to anything about it    Also get the surveys calling all the time..
