It's NOT Paypal !!! I received several calls from this number on my mobile in germany today ... and I don't even have a paypal-account. Never had one and propably never will. So why would they call me to confirm a transaction I couldn't possibly have made ??? It's definitely a scam ... and I wonder where these freaks got my number. REPORT ALL CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER and DON'T GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION !

this number, 0014029357733 is actually from PayPal Customer Service. The other numbers are
08707307191 and 0035314369004  - PayPal customer services Ireland. They communicate with users on a regular basis via email to provide requested services. However, they also communicate with users by phone to:
resolve customer complaints or claims made by users via the PayPal Services; respond to requests for customer service; inform users if we believe their accounts or any of their transactions have been used for an illegitimate purpose; confirm information concerning a user’s identity, business or account activity;
carry out collection activities; conduct customer surveys; and investigate suspicious transactions. If there any amendments to your account, especially if it has been dormant for some time, they may telecall you for a security check.

This is PayPal; Called me at 12:27 to confirm I was making a large transaction.

Saw a large Orange Bill in my online bank account so I went to my Orange store and they told me I had phoned Canada on 0014029357733 for 3 hours 21 mins, which cost me £150.   They had phoned me and I didn't answer.   35 minutes later(according to my phone log I phoned them back, no way!!) I told Orange it was some kind of rip-off but they said they couldn't do anything about it but I Orange halved the cost (£75) and I put it down to a mistake on my part.   Thinking about it I Googled the number and found I wasn't alone.

So I rang Pay Pal,  who said this is not one of their numbers and believe it to be a scam!!!!!

well i phoned paypal and they said they have no idea who the number is and have nothing to do with it.

its 100% paypal ..they only phone you for you to type there 4 pin code they send you when purchesing items from the internet to make sure its you living at that address and its a automated call which hangs itself up when you key in the correct pin..nothing to worry about.

this number is paypal customer service. and it's going to assist you in your queries. I just got a call and it assisted me in verifying my account because I have problems with it. They never ask for password or pin or your account. They will only assist.

This is a scammer. I checked the number online and many people say this is fake. Heck, I'm 14. I don't even have a paypal account. Never give personal info over the phone! They call for your social security numbers and your paypal accounts.

Someone hacked my Hotmail account, the next day I got 2 hang-up calls from this number. Checked PayPal account, no unauthorised transactions, all passwords changed and new anti-virus installed. Be careful out there!

Can confirm that this number is used by paypals autocaller.
Actively added a new bank account in paypal and got an automated verification call originating from this number seconds after submitting the new data for verification.

PayPal verifies if the person adding bank account is genuine by asking over the phone to type in the number displayed on screen (there is an option to very either via text or phone). The same way Lloyds and Halifax do to verify when adding a new recipient.
What is bothering though that apparently scammers substitute their caller ID with PayPal one.
If you receive phone calls about some actions you have not performed, it does not mean the phone call is not from PayPal. Most surely it is designed as safeguard and works against attacking your PayPal account.
Nothing to be annoyed about.

It definitely is Paypal. For me it was an automated call asking to key in the four digit verification code sent to my bank when changing my account details.
It was totally genuine but that's not to say scammers can't change the caller identity to this or any other genuine number. Paypal never ask for passwords etc so be careful!
