i think this code number is ganerated from pc to phone call.

just had a call from this joker purporting to be a solicitors firm
and wanting to know details of my recent car accident. I gave him
some really abusive language and hung up. Within seconds he
rang back and replied in kind. I am plagued by these calls and
would  do violence if  I were to confront one of these pests.

Call from 00180073546 and said that it is from microsoft. This is no number from microsoft

Got a number of calls from 00180005625 who say he's from microsoft. Not true. Going to report it to the police.

When I picked the phone up, they hang up.

1. Ask for identification that can prove their job at Microsoft.

2. Microsoft NEVER call people unless as long as you are not booked at a special time or meeting

As far as I can tell, this is an autodialer and you can get many variations of the number, too, i.e. 00111800057 or 0011800057.

The autodialer (a computer) rings a large amount of random numbers and the first 20 or so to answer are patched through to a human operator, ready to scam you.

If you haven't already, please register your phone number with TPS (http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html) to help cut down your nuisance calls (for free), then, if you have a call barring service with your telephone provider, and a caller display function on your phone, use them to check and bar these weird numbers. You can usually do it by dialling a short number on your phone after receiving your last call.

This is harassment, plain and simple, as I've recently been receiving 5-10 calls a day. Something has to be put in place to stop this soon. It just saddens me that the telesales companies are so competitive they are resorting to this tactic and that it is becoming commonplace for people to be scammed. Is this really the future of telecommunications? Are none of us entitled to a peaceful life anymore? And don't get me started on advertisement on the Internet...

my mobile has been auto dialling 00180 555 13519 & charging me 21p each time since 14/10/14 - I am really careful about answering to numbers I don't recognise so not sure how this has happened - have contracted my phone provider
