I got the same mail..and i got the cheque ...i have the cheque in my account...did someone got the money on the bank??

Same scam underway in Indonesia, using Madison. Postcode given is the address of the Brunei Investment Agency in London.

The inquiry has made it to Barcelona, again with the exact same details coming from a Collin Churchill.  Our DMC got as far as sending an offer before finding these blog posts and realising it is a scam.  Who has time on their hands to do this kind of thing?

first, they get a "victim's" interest, eg £17,000 of income! Wow!
second, after sucking victim in, they pay in full in advance or maybe a deposit - using two or more stolen or cloned credit cards, perhaps 20-33%?
third, a day or so later, there's a "sudden" change of plan -  eg claim that the groom-to-be doing worthwhile voluntary work in south-east asia drowned saving two kids or perhaps a puppy (designed to get your sympathy) so wedding is off - aaaaahhhh, how sad!
fourth, request a refund but by another twist of fate, the cards they used have been stolen or eaten by a (different) puppy, so can you refund to another of their cards which - of course - hotelier is happy to do in such tragic circumstances (groom, not the "stolen" card)
fifth, the deposit turns up against your account as the issuing bank deals with original fraudulent transactions - they have up to 45 days to do this
sixth, you try to get in touch with Louis to find out what's going on but by now they've disappeared along with the refund on the replacement card, that's already been withdrawn
actually, quite simple and no doubt lucrative
oh 1: the writer is clearly not English-speaker as a first language, nor is the style that of a UK born resident, for various style clues that I won't go into so they don't improve their "skills" to bring more deception to the unsuspecting
oh 2, and the number they've used is NOT a UK cell, it's a UK Premium rate personal number that can be rented for a few days/weeks, then "burned" - no contract, no id, no chance of tracking them - the fraudsters best friend in fact
