This number has called me numerous times over the last few days,  along with 0000000000, but today they've excelled themselves - between them they have called my landline 14 times in the last 4 hours. I leave my ansaphone on 24/7 these days, so there is no way they are gonna get through. I am so fed up with these nuisance calls. I wish there was some way of getting rid of these idiots.

I have sent bt a message about 00490 and 00000000 as had over 20 calls from them today. how are they getting away with it

Getting absolutely fed up with the amount of calls I'm getting from this number and apart from once nobody is on the other end.

My husband and myself are very annoyed and angry with the amount of 'calls' from this number or 'silent' calls which are now occurring about 2 or 3 times a day !! Where do they get our phone number from and how can we stop them ??

just called that 0800 number and they answered as hamilton and groves, a commodity broker from canary wharf. Then i googled the name and number only to find that we had been pestered in the past by these people , selling diamonds, bonds, stocks etc, it seems that your own phone number is the commodity here.

Thanks for the tip. I have the same phone and I very soon ran out of the 10 block numbers. I have set it up like you now. Just added the people I want to be able to contact me to my VIP list and then put the phone on DO NOT DISTURB. Very good idea.

just had a phone call which said "goodbye" in an answer-phone voice before hanging up.  Did 1471 and was told the number that had phoned me was 00490.  This is the 4th time in 9 days this number has phoned me and the machine-caller always says "goodbye" as I answer and say hello.  Blooming annoying

Had several of these calls recently, 00490 ..
Today I,had a 'chat' with 'Mike' from 'Liverpool', asked for his personal details, the name of his line manager, the complany he works for is APMS or F,who deal with accident claims..The line was crackly with a time delay between sentences, and was clearly not from Liverpool, neither was his name actually 'Mike'. Asked him for the head office number, the name of the company, his full name, a phone number that I could call at any time and hassle, surprisingly he told me he could give out no details, at which point, I told him I was a voodoo doctor and that he and his family were now cursed (ok, I didn't really do that last bit,  but I would have liked to, poor guy, he's only doing his job after all!)

Just had a call from an Asian guy on 00490....when I answered he said he was from road traffic management....I just hung up...

My mother has had calls from these [***] wipes all week pestering her for information about me. She of course, refused to give out info to this Asian fella [not the name I would use] and even put his female colleague [probably his Punjabi sister] so, I am investigating. When I find where these idiots are I intend to pay my respects, either in person or in kind, whichever is applicable. Mess with me and I just tell them to get lost, play music, scream down the phone etc. Mess with an 84 year old and infirm Grandmother and Mother and their prize is a revenge seeking former military me!

Or remote access. That is what my mother was told.

Asian caller from "Microsoft"  claiming I had been hacked. Told me to turn my computer on and he would remote access it and fix the problem. I asked for a mainline telephone number that I could call to verify his identity at which point he got quite aggressive and told me he was only trying to f****** help and didn't know why he bothered. At which point I told him that all my calls are screened due to nuisance calls and the police would probably love a chat to verify his story.........unsurprisingly the line went dead. I suspect that after gaining access to my computer all my personal details would have been stolen. Number now blocked!!!!

This (00490) called today said it was from uk investigations, haha AS IF!!! very strong indian accent struggled to understand them, asked how i was to day and i said 'busy' asked what he wanted (didnt want all the speil) said he was trying to contact someone who had an accident in last 3 years, told him where to go and hung up. Does this mean this is just the start of the pestering? we are on tps i thought this was supposed to stop it?

Both the same Asian frail guy who keeps calling me.
I think the guy is from *Singapore,* but he has lied about being from USA and working either for CNN, Economist or Times (keeps changing).

He keeps asking that I participate in studies, but he seems to be trying to keep me on the line for as long as possible, so I do the opposite. Block the number if possible

I have received loads of calls on my home phone but as I am at work, they are not answered.
